Lehrmann rental property in $13k damages claim

"Let's light some fires."

The landlady of a multimillion-dollar property rented by Seven for Bruce Lehrmann claims he caused more than $13,000 worth of damages.

Gaenor Meakes, the owner of the home on Sydney’s northern beaches, rented the property to Lehrmann, with Seven Network picking up the $100,000 tab for the property, as part of “accommodation” costs for two interviews with 7News Spotlight.

It denied making any payment to Lehrmann for the interviews.

The NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal was told today that Lehrmann left the Balgowlah property with $13,250 in damage when he moved out.

Meakes also claims she is owed $6000 in lost rent because Lehrmann left the property three weeks early.

After further revelations about Seven’s deal were disclosed in court it led to the departure of producer Mark Llewellyn and subsequently news boss Craig McPherson.

Lehrmann did not attend the hearing on Wednesday.

The case is due to return to the tribunal on June 27.
