Nine, SBS pick up new titles.

Docos on Ibiza and James Blunt, plus a new Danish drama in new network acquisitions.

Nine has picked up Ibiza: Secrets of the Party Island at UK doco series which screened on BBC Three.

In the 4 part series host Zara McDermott explores what makes Ibiza tick – from the superclubs to undercover cops. Money, excess, luxury – as the A-list gathers for good times, is the party nearly over?

Meanwhile SBS has acquired music documentary James Blunt: One Brit Wonder from London-based Lorton Entertainment. The doco offers an intimate look at the life and career of the British singer-songwriter, filmed during his 2022 Greatest Hit tour. This behind-the-scenes access is a first, showcasing Blunt’s story in an unprecedented manner.

SBS is also a pre-buyer of a new Danish drama series, Secrets is an eight-part drama created and written by Kaspar Munk and Lone Hørslev.

The plot follows two adult siblings and centres on themes including family relationships, abuse and co-dependency. One sibling is a music teacher who escapes into the world of partying and drugs to avoid his predictable everyday life and family responsibilities; the other is an architect whose firm faces a serious crisis when a vital contract is lost due to the death of the contract person, who is also her lover.

Dates for titles are yet to be announced.
