Oprah is coming back with new episodes filmed in September, and she kicks off with Charice Pempengco, a teenager from the Philippines who leaves child star singers for dead.
Thanks to becoming a YouTube sensation, Charice has flown around the world to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Next week you can see her perform on Oprah with a stunning rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” at the age of just sixteen.
She also got to duet “The Prayer” with Andrea Bocelli (check YouTube for that)
After her Oprah appearance, Charice later got to meet Celine Dion and duet on stage with her. Sure it’s schmaltzy, Americana stuff. But it’s likely to send goosebumps down your spine…
Oprah‘s new series returns 1pm Wednesday October 29 on TEN.

Yes, the new season is in High Definition.
Isn’t Oprah’s new “series” supposed to be HD?
she sounds like she is just imitating them…
Think you’ll find she’s been on twice, before and after a Celine concert appearance.
that episode has already aired on ten, last month, because i remember her from the photo above and crying in oprah’s arms
no one is better than whitney! look out for her new cd in the first quarter of 2009.
Hey you’re right… Shirley Bassey did the other song. The “out Whitney” line is a bit of fun. I saw her in the 80s and she was amazing. No argument there. This kid is a stunner that’s for sure….
Isn’t the song just ‘I Have Nothing” ?
I agree Jaz!
Waaaaaaaaah
She does NOT “out-Whitney Whitney”.. That’s an insult to the greatest voice of our time!
