She’s done RocKwiz, Eurovision and the AFI Awards, but next big gig for Julia Zemiro is co-hosting the 2009 Helpmann Awards with actor Jonathan Biggins.
The 2 hr event will be broadcast delayed from the Sydney Opera House recognising the best in musical theatre, contemporary music, comedy, opera, classical music, dance and physical theatre.
It will include special performances by the casts of Avenue Q, Candy Man, Chicago, Jerry Springer – The Opera, Shane Warne – The Musical, 7 Fingers and Wicked.
Also taking the stage are The Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance Company and Opera Australia.
This year’s recipients of the JC Williamson Award are John Bell AO OBE and Michael Gudinski AM.
It screens Monday, July 27th at 8.30pm on Bio.
