Next month FOX8 premieres US dramedy series Hart of Dixie, co-produced by Josh Schwartz.
The show follows Dr. Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson) a young doctor from New York City who moves to a small Southern town after inheriting a medical practice and soon meets an electric and eccentric group of characters.
Originally the series was due to air on GO!, but was on-sold to Foxtel.
Fast-talking New Yorker and brand new doctor Zoe Hart has it all figured out – after graduating top of her class from medical school, she’ll follow in her father’s footsteps and become a cardio-thoracic surgeon. But when her dreams fall apart, Zoe decides to accept an offer from a stranger, Dr. Harley Wilkes, to work with him at his small practice in Bluebell, Alabama. Zoe arrives in this small Gulf Coast town only to find that Harley has passed away and left his half of the medical practice to her in his will. She quickly finds that Southern hospitality isn’t always so hospitable and also finds there‘s more of a story behind Harley than she first thought.
Saturdays from January 7 at 6.30pm FOX 8.

Sounds similar to Nine’s series of The Coast! Nine should give The Coast another go – the timing is right for a feel good drama like this.
i love this show. it has great characters. I really hope they keep this show. it is not available on demand which is really too bad since I think more people may watch if it was available there also.
This is the cutest little show, nice and clean. I’m really enjoying it, and it’s such a shame this is not being show on FTA TV. GO! have completely lost it….
Summer from the OC is now a doctor? LOL!
Northern Exposure?
Fox8 has picked up “Last Man Standing” too, David is it normal for free to air to not pick so many shows up?
I wrote some time ago that Foxtel had acquired some additional shows from Nine, Seven and TEN including Hart of Dixie, Last Man Standing and more.
Have looked at first 8 episodes. I really am enjoying it.
What the hell is GO!/Nine doing loosing this one?
Its a good solid fun show and could have worked well on FTA, even the main channel over the summer break. This is another reason viewers are going else where.
