  1. Not sure yet about Top of the Lake. It sits waiting on our recorder as we are watching S1 first. I am not worried Mr. Robot is starting on Showcase on Thursday 12th of October. Now that is an addictive TV series but you need to do some internet research to get full benefit of this complex show.

FTA TV for me at the moment is SBS logical ch31 (HD) of Cycling from Spain and some SBS1 (ch30) movies. In all my life I have never seen such boring and mundane offerings on FTA TV. It makes me sad as I spent many years working in the TV Industry 🙁

  2. I agree with the comments about Top of the Lake.It really has degenerated this series, with some really poor storylines and unbelievable characters, who seem to do one ridiculous thing after another. It’s a pity really, because the cast is actually very good, and deserves better scripts than the ones they’re being forced to work with.

  3. Top Of The Lake: China Girl has now lost to close to half its audience, from 131,000 premiere to 72,000 last night. One reason – its just plain awful with over the top histrionics and outlandish plot lines. The dialogue is amateur and childish, and all the brooding looks in the world won’t save this pile of tosh. Whatever happened to the David Wenham character from last week who was engaged in a superhuman showdown with Elizabeth Moss against a flaming curtain ? From near incineration to nearly getting her nose bitten off by the terrible Mr Puss this show just keeps raising the bar in terms of implausibility. The Father and Daughter Dance – really ?
I’m pretty sure there won’t be a third TOTL – this one has definitely jumped the shark …

  4. Considering it airs at 10am, Outsiders making the top 20 for Sky is pretty amazing. Looks like that format not only survived, but has thrived following Mark Latham’s ‘exit’
