  1. When is Hunted coming to Chenel 9 also do you know if any of the free to air Networks are going to show any
    upcoming Disater or Sci Fi movies or min seres

  2. Dirty Sexy Money maybe later in the year.

    Life sometime this year yes.

    Burn Notice maybe HD if you are lucky.

    Prison Break later in the year yes.

    Jericho HD if you are lucky, all eps airing on SciFi too. Now axed in the US.

    Bionic Women, no axed.

    Heroes later in the year yes.

  3. Hi,
    I was wondering if someone could tell me if Dirty Sexy Money, Life, Burn Notice, Prison Break, Jerico, Biotic Women, and Hero’s will be coming back
    to free to air stations. Sorry if some of these have be asked before, but I am new to this and not sure where I can find out this kind of information. Leon

  4. I see. On a side note, Ten and Nine’s new shows have been bombing spectacularly this yr. On Ten, there was Cane and Journeyman and Psych and Women’s Murder Club, all of which were axed fairly quickly (excluding WMC, but it wasn’t exactly the “best new show” of the season as they advertised it to be). From what I saw Burn Notice was an enjoyable show and Life was spectacular. To their credit, Nine tried something different with aquiring more youth based-shows this season, although pretty much all of them have been axed (Cashmere Mafia, Big Shots, Jezebel James, Hidden Palms, New Amsterdam, Canterbury’s Law) and Terminator was shafted to a late night slot after like 3 episodes. Seven bombed with Bionic Woman and their ABC comedies, although that was a while ago now. Nine still have Chuck and Pushing Daisies up their sleeves though, which will probably be huge ratings grabbers for them. Seven also has Eli Stone which is an enjoyable show, although it hasn’t been renewed for a season 2 yet.

  5. Wait, I just realised that this 2008 Show Watch article was made almost a year ago. With all the upfront presentations finishing by May 16 in the US, will there be a 2009 show watch page created around then? Or will all the new shows that Aussie FTA networks pick up just be added to the 2008 page?

  6. No, The IT Crowd is airing now on ABC. There was an American remake of the show, and a pilot was made, but it never got picked up for a full season. Seven apparently bought the rights to the series (the American version) before it got canned. The IT Crowd (UK) should continue to run on ABC

  7. Ugly Betty and The Simpsons are back on air now, along with those Fire 000 and Search & Rescue shows. The only shows on this list I’m looking forward to seeing premiere are Eli Stone (the 1st ep was like a spinoff of Boston Legal more than anything else, although not as good. It was still enjoyable), Girlicious, Unhitched, and perhaps Pushing Daisies when it comes on. I didn’t like the 1st ep of PD but it might be worth catching another 1 or 2 episodes to see if it gets any better.

  8. Cane didn’t get big audiences so it was removed by TEN, then re-appeared on TEN HD. The IPL Cricket has effectively pushed it off the HD schedule for now. We wait and see if it returns. Only 13 eps were made before the writers strike hit. No clear word on its future.

  9. Ten has Friday Night Lights. The rumours have it that it looks like it might end up on only TEN-HD which i hope doesnt happen. I am a fan of it and would love to see it here.

  10. So David, what’s happening to those unaired shows promised in 2007 by ABC,
    * Double the Fist
    * Stuff
    * Lightning City

    will they be shown in 08 or what?
    Thanks David, your blog is the best. blog. ever.

  11. I forgot to post in here a few weeks ago, but TV Week said something along the lines of “Don’t worry if you don’t have Foxtel, Gossip Girl will be screening on Nine in the second half of 2008” in an article about the show.

  12. Sam I Am was the former Name to Samantha Who? I checked on several websites and they all quote this. Thought i would let you know.

    Here is a quote from Wikipedia

    “The show was originally named Sam I Am until ABC renamed it Samantha Be Good due to conflicts with the estate of Dr. Seuss. TV Guide later reported that ABC had changed the title of the series once more to Samantha Who?”

  13. Not yet no.

    I’m told Seven is to do a programme launch in the new year. I suspect any chance rests with how it performs over summer. It’s doing ok so far, and may just build.
