Corbys sue over TT

The Corby clan is suing the Seven Network for defamation over its stories earlier this year.

In the Today Tonight story, Seven’s interview with former Corby friend Jodie Power alleged that mother Rosleigh Rose and daughter Mercedes had previously dabbled in drugs.

When the case came before the NSW Supreme Court today, Seven’s lawyers had opted to have the case heard before a jury.

Seven’s story delivered the network booming figures as it relaunched TT with Anna Coren. Nine’s A Current Affair, which has a long history with Schapelle Corby interviews, fired back with claims Seven’s private investigator had lied to secure follow up stories.

  1. Reading the posts here it shows that the Corby’s were seriously defamed. Mercedes Corby and her mother have not been convicted of any crime and Today Tonight did not show one shred of truth or evidence to prove what the ex friend Jodie Power was saying. Remember Jodie Power was paid alot of money to say what she did and she contridicted herself through out every interview. I hope the Corby’s win as the media today need to have more ethic’s and stop feeding the public tabloid hearsay!

  2. They can sue all they want but the public are convinced they are a family heavily involved in drugs and no amount of protest from them will change that. I’m disgusted by the way we have been lied to since she was arrested overseas.
