Electric Fields rehearse in Malmö -and yes, we have the didgeridoo.

A didgeridoo, Zaachariaha Fielding, Michael Ross take to the stage for their first rehearsal of "One Milkali (One Blood)".

It’s official. Australia has brought a didgeridoo to the Eurovision stage for the very first time.

South Australia’s Electric Fields had their first rehearsal on the Eurovision stage in Malmö, late last night, Australian time.

Vocalist Zaachariaha Fielding is resplendent in a flowing white dress joined by keyboard player Michael Ross for their 2024 entry, “One Milkali (One Blood)”, with the chorus lyrics in huge letters on the LED backdrop and cubes above.

The electric-soul act mark the first time a duo has represented Australia.

From across the socials last night, here were some of the reactions from those in attendance.

Reddit Eurovision community:” Zaachariaha Fielding’s fabulous white dress captures the arena light and transforms into a rainbow at the start, and then this whole performance builds into an uplifting cosmic explosion of light and colour across both the LED wall and the floor. Zaachariaha is supported by Michael Ross on keyboards, two backing singers, and of course the didgeridoo. There’s a lot of movement around the stage, which makes it feel like it’s a performance that aims to welcome in every corner of the arena – just pure joy from start to finish, and we’re delighted to add Yankunytjatjara, an Aboriginal language, to the Eurovision canon.”

Wiwibloggs: Australia are bringing an explosion of colour to the Malmö stage. Zaachariaha wears an elegant outfit that reflects the lightning perfectly — he’s also going bear foot for the performance. Michael is slightly over to stage left on the keyboard. The duo are joined by two backing singers and a didgeridoo player to give it a truly Australian theme. The background LEDs, as well as the cubes above the stage, feature swirling red graphics and also the title lyrics “One Milkali”.

Australia’s entry is in the hands of Director of Blink TV and Creative Director, Paul Clarke.

Myf Warhurst and Joel Creasey will host SBS coverage next week, with Courtney Act as backstage host, screening from Wednesday 8 – Sunday 12 May.
