Deck the Halls etc etc – the Rockwiz Christmas Special will see Aussie and international rock’s famous faces continue to mix it with (extra) ordinary music buffs to battle for the weekly title of RocKwiz musical trivia champion. Some of the world’s most talented musicians will take part, taking it in turns to help the audience and the contestants answer questions and sing some Christmas favourites.

Jade Macrae, Joe Cammileri (The Black Sorrows), Tex Perkins (The Cruel Sea), Clare Bowditch, Angie Hart (Frente!), Tim Freedman (The Whitlams), Chelsea Wheatley, Paul Kelly, Dan Kelly (Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males), Ash Naylor and Liam Finn will all perform Christmas classics such as Motown Medley, Fairytale of New York, River, Maybe This Christmas, Christmas Wrapping and How to Make Gravy.

The show will finish with an all in finale of Merry Christmas Everybody, which is guaranteed to be a show stopper.

Usual segments such as Who Can It Be Now, Local and Or General, Million Dollar Riff and Into The Groove will all still feature, with a definite Christmas flavour.

  1. And Dave, amongst musos and the people who have talent, like Aussie Idol, no respecting muso would have a bar of it, maybe you dont notice the awkward smirks from the talent on the show (when its not some 60-70s person terrified of being forgotten), or when she talks about Olivia Newton John and drools over Diesel and her obvious favs. But you don’t here the talk once at home downing a few beers. And like McDermotts street cred with comedians and singers alike, the channel there on is far as they will get, dont forget her attempted cred stint on that short lived celebrity singing show. Favorite or not, people like your kind inspect whats floating on top, its not about longevity or what has a cult following, its about sales. Sales = talent. And thats why the industry is so dismal, (parallel imports put the last nail in that coffin)you cant figure out whats good unless the teenagers bug there mums to buy it! You’ll never be the agents and managers of future talent, you’ll always be reporting what others further in the industry are talking about. And before you say “Hey being number means your good” I’ll site some references off the top of my head… The Frog Song, Whats a matta you, Mark Holden, Daryl “Give me another Rum” Braithwaite, Youthu Yindi, Collette and any person who appears on Beauty and the Beast. No offense bro.

  2. television AU, what do you expect? Its not like she will say “Get F**ked” the first time she meets ya. and Dave, ongoing? Hey, people do need to hold on to there jobs, and like Homers Mr.X, I doubt the real truth gets to a up and coming blogger.

  3. I’ve only met Julia once but I found her to be lovely, and no I’m not “in” the media… and let’s face it, she’s hosted Eurobeat, how bad can she be???? 🙂

  4. However I also know people who have worked with in an ongoing capacity and it isn’t the impression they gave either.

Anyway appreciate she isn’t your fave….

  5. lol your a part of the media, of course she is nice to you Dave.

She has been rejected more times than accepted and her street cred in the Music Industry is next to zero.
A lot of musicians have declined being on the show as there are no questions asked about Music or Musicians that date after 2000.
And thats a shame considering it’s shot from the hub of Australias modern Music home.
