NZ duo get WGA nomination

Despite their ongoing strike, the WGA is proceeding with their annual awards that acknowledge excellence in writing.

In television, this week they nominated Flight of the Conchords by the NZ comedy duo for Best Comedy series. They will compete with Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, The Office and 30 Rock. It is also nominated for Best New Series. TEN has the rights to the series in Australia.

In drama the finalists are Dexter, Friday Night Lights, Mad Men, The Sopranos and The Wire. Also competing in Best New Series are Damages, Mad Men, Pushing Daisies and The Sarah Silverman Program.

The ceremony is planned for February 9th.

  1. Great news ~ I adore the Conchords. “Affirmative!” The drama category is gonna be a good race. I never got into FNL. Mad Men, The Wire, The Sopranos and Dexter are all incredible. How can they choose just one?!?
