Now you can finally pitch that TV show

Psst! Got an idea for a reality show? Or maybe a game show? John de Mol, the man behind Big Brother, Deal or No Deal and Fear Factor wants to hear from you.

Convinced the next big thing is an idea to be conceived by viewers “Mr. Endemol” is actively seeking pitches via a new website, TalpaCreative which fosters an online community of new television ideas.

“The best ideas submitted to the site will be developed by de Mol and his creative team and may be produced and distributed internationally by Talpa Media Group and Endemol,” says the site.

“If we option your show idea, you will receive an initial fee and a percentage ownership of the format.

“Our goal is to help our members be as creative and successful as possible and partner with them throughout the development process.”

Although all disputes are handled by Californian courts, there’s nothing in the Terms and Conditions that actually says members must be American. Be sure to wise up on all the small print if you have an idea you want to put out there.

Similar sites have operated for movie pitches, but are dependent on users buying a CD in order to submit an idea.

The best way to have a TV idea considered in the Aussie market is still to find a local producer with a sympathy for your genre, but always start with a one pager if they agree to having an idea submitted.

  1. Mrs. Im Wit Da Band is abt a boy and his band wanting to make their band better by adding a female to the band so they go lookin around for a couple of months. But when they found the girl she became Mrs. Im Wit Da Band. There is alot more to it.

  2. I have great idea for a new Australian comedy series which i see being something popular in the future. it is original, the idea of a show within a show revolving around 3 characters with realistic problems who produce their own show. My only problem is funding.
