People’s Choice Awards winners

House, Two and a Half Men, Heroes and The Simpsons sit at the top of the terribly democratic People's Choice Awards in the US.

The annual People’s Choice Awards were held in the US yesterday, almost ensuring every celeb gets a prize in the country by the time the year is over.

So here are some very populist results. Dammit they agreed with my Robin Williams Law & Order star turn. I must be getting mainstream….

– TV drama: House

– TV comedy: Two and a Half Men

– TV animated comedy: The Simpsons

– Sci-fi/fantasy show: Heroes

– Reality show: Dancing With the Stars

– Game show: Deal or No Deal

– Male TV star: Hugh Laurie

– Female TV star: Christina Applegate

– Talk show host: Ellen DeGeneres

– Scene-stealing guest star: Robin Williams, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

– TV drama diva: Kyra Sedgwick as Brenda Johnson, The Closer

– New TV comedy: Gary Unmarried

– Funny female star: Tina Fey

– New TV drama: The Mentalist

  1. Its sooooooooooo good to see some results chosen by the ppl and not elitist cynical snobs like critics who watch nothing outside of 30 Rock and Mad Men. Sure, there will always be the pretentious bunch who scoff at the thought of Heroes, The Simpsons, The Mentalist, etc getting awards but from where I’m standing, the people got it right. I’m slightly surprised people are still interested in House after 5 years though. Its been the exact same show for years now

  2. I agree with almost every award. Especially 2.5 Men 🙂

Only one I can’t go with is Heroes.

Nice to see Christina Applegate acknowledged after what she has been through. And really is there any competition for Tina Fey!

  3. Anyone know why Australia dumped their People Choice Awards? Did it just not rate well enough? I think the last time we had one was back in the day when John Jarret was on Better Homes and Gardens!
