Big Love wedded to 4th season

As Series 3 gets underway in the US, HBO greenlights a 4th season for Bill and his wives.

big-love51The multi-married, multi-layered Big Love has been given another season by HBO.

“The stellar reviews and solid viewership this season confirm that this is a signature series for HBO,” said HBO’s Michael Lombardo. “The series keeps getting better and better.”

The third season has just gotten underway in the US, and although it got off to a sluggish start each episode has added viewers. Combined with encore episodes, the series averages about 5 million viewers.

Also, critics have been effusive about this season, which is always a factor for a subscription service like HBO that relies on generating a public perception of exclusive, high-quality content.

Production will begin later this year for a 2010 release.

SBS is expected to air the third series sometime this year.

Meanwhile actress Ginnifer Goodwin is a guest on Rove this Sunday Night.

  2. Wow, i myself stumbled across the first season by accident and i am hooked. What a great story idea, i suppose this does happen in some parts of the world. i now joke with my friends about every good wife needing another wife to lighten the load of life…i love the drama & the actors do a fine job , well a fantastic job i think of being real.

  3. My whole family is hanging for the new season.we stumbled upon it by accident one night and became addicted.such a complex family life that you normally think only happens in the islamic world.please hurry up sbs!

  4. Woohoo. Love this show – can’t wait to see Season 3 (feels like I’ve been waiting for years).
Hopefully SBS will start playing it soon & I won’t have to wait for the US DVD to be released

  5. I just told my sister and she is squealing she loves this show, like crazy loves this show. I wonder when SBS will screen it, I couldn’t find it on their website!

  6. I think I’m the only one who’s not a big fan of HBO dramas. I don’t see why ppl think of them as higher quality than the stuff on a lot of other networks, I don’t reckon there’s a “magic formula” this network has that makes it make better stuff than others. For example I thought the series Oz was decent but I enjoyed Prison Break’s earlier seasons a lot more, and I’d take Angel over True Blood and 24 over stuff like In Treatment any day.
