Guerrilla e-War

A British author on the guerrilla gardening movement says TEN's show is just "green-washed makeover show."

ggsBritain’s Richard Reynolds, author of On Guerilla Gardening: A Handbook for Gardening Without Boundaries and founder of the GuerrillaGardening.org has blasted TEN’s Guerrilla Gardeners.

In a fiery email last week, Mr Reynolds alleged producer Nick Murray had stolen his concept then trashed the ideals of the movement.

“What sounded promising has turned out to be a tragic barrage of misinformation about the movement and I’m livid,” Mr Reynolds wrote.

“Your show really lacks the soul of guerilla gardening . . . It’s a green-washed makeover show, not the courageous gardening show it could have been. It’s a short-term TV contrivance wrapped up in borrowed language and anecdotes from my website, media coverage and beyond.”

But Murray defends, “He sent me a filthy email but his criticisms seem to be all second-hand.

“I think he should get off his high horse and have a cup of tea and a good lie down.”

Murray said he had written to Mr Reynolds last month to tell him about his prime-time program.

“Please bring this nonsense to an end swiftly or do your best to remedy the situation, for the sake of Australia’s public space if nothing else,” Reynolds replied.

  1. get a life richard!! knowone needs losers like you around! ten are doing a great job with this show!! its not rating well and they are still giving it a chance to do well

  2. go richard!
it could have been entertaining, and made a real difference, planting seeds in minds of public, that they can take control of their urban landscape.
but instead, the show is a fast-cut vehicle for their funny-man [?] dave with a few token refs chucked in. and why the jeopardy every 3 minutes…? zzzzzzzzz

  3. Richard, go have a cry. At least people have heard of the movement now, you clearly got nowhere close to that level of public awareness, how awkward for you . . .
