AMC has picked up Vince Gilligan’s Breaking Bad for a third season.
It follows the critical success of the first season, including a Best Actor win at the Emmys for star Bryan Cranston. As the second season proceeds in the US it has garnered even more critical acclaim and commercial success.
The series features Cranston as a struggling high school chemistry (Walter White) teacher with a handicapped child and pregnant wife. When he is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, White breaks down and turns to a life of crime, setting up a meth lab in order to support his family.
The first series aired in Oz on Showcase.

Have been seeing this show in the US. What a captivating and twisting saga of Walter and Jesse – the finale of series two screened in America last night and I know of at least ten of my friends are all awaiting this episode! I honestly thought the content might have not made it past Australian censors, as some very graphic drug scenes appear in series two.
Honestly i found the first season to be a struggle and didn’t make it all the way through.
I found it tedious, and didn’t care for the characters. There was an interesting premise to it all, but to me, it just didn’t engage me as a viewer.
Best new show on TV. Good news!
Awesome. Now Damages is finished I can watch season two of this fantastic series.
I hope the 2nd season starts on Showcase soon.
