Returning: American Dad. Bumped: Prison Break, Saved.

Sorry fans of Prison Break, you just got pushed back by another half hour, to make way for American Dad.

american-dadSeven has made some adjustments to its Wednesday line-up effective immediately.

American Dad will return this week at 11pm with the episode “Tearjerker.” It aired in the US in January 2008.

This change pushes Prison Break back to an 11:30pm start (bitch, bitch, bitch). Last week it took a slim 226,000 viewers.

2006 US drama Saved, which was airing at midnight, is now out altogether.

  1. I didn’t realise we were over a season behind in American Dad. Disgraceful. Add It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to Seven’s MIA list too.

  2. American Dad is now almost 2 seasons behind, Seven have a long way to go before they’re caught up. And where’s the rest of the shows Seven bumped ages ago (Ugly Betty, Las Vegas, The Unit, Samantha Who) along with others they never bothered screening (Knight Rider, My Own Worst Enemy, Reaper)? Chances are they’ll show up on Seven’s 2nd SD channel sometime next year

  3. About time 7 pulled their finger out and screened American Dad! I can’t believe they’re only at the 1/2 way point of season 3 when season 4 is over!!! Interestingly the 4th DVD set won’t be out in Australia until late september although it was released a few months back in the US (the cover artwork being from the Tearjerker episode). The pushed back release; they’re usually out around May or June smells of 7 meddling to me.

  4. They’re idiots, everyone who would watch American Dad simply watches by other means because there’s no point waiting 18 months for it to reappear.

  5. I’m a bit sick of people on here stating “anybody who really wanted to watch it has seen it months ago” in relation to several shows including Prison Break, TAR, Survivor etc. Not everybody has the money/time to download all these shows. Just because you don’t do this doesn’t mean you aren’t a fan. I don’t really care what time anything is on, as long as it’s on (TAR, Survivor etc).

  6. At first I was kind of annoyed at Prison Break going back to 11.30pm, but then I realised it doesn’t matter cause I just record it on the iQ anyway. No difference to me really!

  7. Makes no difference as you need to record from 10.30 – 1.00am to make sure you get one show in fully recorded due to early and / or late starting shows. If you are goind to watch live, tune in around 11.20. Be sure to allow for the early start if recording. Yes ideed “bitch, bitch, bitch”.

Don’t know why they didn’t have it on at 10.30, like Heroes on Thur, the programming on Wed nights is one of 7’s worst nights.

  8. Hooray for American Dad. Prison Break was already in the record and watch when I get around to it category, so that doesn’t matter too much. I keep falling asleep during that show no matter when I watch it.

  9. American Dad is a little jem of a show.. Surely it deserves a prime-time timeslot! I hate how Family Guy, American Dad, King of the Hill, etc are all shown late at night. 🙁

  10. Tearjerker? Wow American Dad has been off 7 for ages. The current season has been absolutely hilarious.

7 cares about winning the up-late 11pm slot that much?

  11. Seven have made a pretty wise choice. Losing 300000 viewers is a pretty huge drop, and American Dad targets the same audience as Family Guy, so it should rate close to 400000. (only a 100000 drop from FG). Prison Break should retain a similar amount of viewers in its 11:30 slot, which is good for 7.

Those extra viewers in that timeslot will give 7 a more solid win on Wednesdays. Just be glad that 7 have the decency to bump it 30 minutes and not completely cut it from schedule as Channel 9 did with Fringe.

  12. Saved (2 years old BTW) is out after just one week! Any sign it will ever return David? As it’s not on DVD or DL sites, that only leaves ch7.

I’m sure last weeks PB when they showed it in the US had some kind of “Last time on” maybe 7 cut it?

See 2 more reasons to hate FTA,

  13. thank u ch7 4 just sticking wuth the series however why cant american dad go to 1030 instead of how i met your mother repeats that way prision break can have the timeslot of 11 and u can have all new eps every weeks

  14. I’ve watched PB from the beginning but still had trouble following the story when it returned to Seven last week. Seven didn’t help the show by launching straight into the action without some kind of review of what happened previously. Ended up recording the ep so that I could refresh my memory of the storyline through the official site. To Seven’s credit, they are at least playing out the series. Doesn’t matter to me what time they schedule shows- I seldom watch anything on free to air with an ad break.
