This is so true, but with more colour and a modern music theme. I wonder if the hosts know this? The next 7PM Project topic might have to be about their title relating to 1980’s ID form Nine?
bit off topic but because we’re talking about ID’s, always loved the ones from Seven in early 2000’s on YouTube.
@ Stan,
completely agree – Nine used to make some fantastic promos. I loved the 2002 one with the massive balls bouncing everywhere and the different colour for each day thing. Nine should definitely revert back to that ID, even if they aren’t Still The One anymore.
It’s ashame the 7PM Project isn’t “the one”.
I seriously thought I’d seen it before.
I can just hope it wasn’t on purpose.
Wow, I was thinking that when I first saw it.
Geeze you’re right too… good pick up. Something had been vaguely nagging at the back of my head about those credits now you come to mention it, maybe that was it 😉
It’s like that ad Molly Meldrum did about wearing bike helmets.
I see how similar they are. But it’s been done a billion times. We all know you hate the 7pm Project, this continuous bashing is just nuts.
Give it some good publicity for once. Noticed you hardly even mentioned the fact that they talked more about the Kyle jackie o thing…
Boo you!
Thanks Nathan. I actually acknowledged how improved that episode was. They picked up the ball after my criticism so I figure they agreed it had been poorly handled. If I had wanted to jump on the show I could have done so after ep 1, but I waited a week and gave it a review many posters here commended as very fair. And for the record this story isn’t a criticism. It’s a bit of fun…
Well spotted, David!
The Nine Network used to produce some great IDs! My fave was from 1992-94, when a purple ribbon would come across the screen & we’d head straight through a gold map of Australia, ending up behind it & over a glass skyscraper with a gold Nine or affiliate logo. The corresponding city skyline would reflect on the skyscraper behind the logo.
So much trouble taken to make each ID look very local…
They need to fix that god awful set I know that much, it looks like digital vomit !
I think the best copycat intro was the Cricket 08/09 and the FoxSports Superbowl intro.. that was Ch9 at its copycat Best!
Ummm havent you already guessed, there is nothing new in TV…so the similarities will happen… maybe you could say the 7pm project is an updated version, and that any similarities if any are purely coincidental and not meant to obeject……
Thought I was the only one who noticed that.
Excellent – not as insane as I thought.
Yes you are.
Shut up.
Either way, not the most “current and hip” style of opening credits in my mind.
I also have a problem with the name (fine for mystery leading up to it, not catchy enough for a real name, too similar to The 7.30 Report), but maybe that’s just me.
Yes it is.
Shut up.
Yeah now that you bring it up it looks like the folks at TEN have been watching old youtube clips of Nine stationIDs!
What a great old ID that is but the ones from the 70’s are even better.
I’m also thinking Nine can reuse that ID in a few years time when they inevitably take back the #1 spot 🙂
Blind Harry could see that both use the map of Australia and both fly through a city skyline to reach the main logo. Well picked up David.
Not really, the Ch Ten promo is more dynamic and colourful.
I cannot notice any similarities at all. I’ve watched them both a few times each.
yep it is rather simmillar nine should go back to its still the one tag
still the one for having trashy shows that havent got a hope in hell of rating
still the one for pulling shows of after 1 or 2 episodes
still the one for making last minute changes
at 9 were still the one
Nerd territory
That was odd.
No. Even after just watching them both I haven’t noticed the similarity. ???
Most definitely, bit of a fair rip-off actually.
