No Leno for Comedy Channel
The Comedy Channel previously screened The Tonight Show with Jay Leno but it hasn't picked up his new show.

Jay Leno’s new show, aptly titled The Jay Leno Show, hits American screens on September 14th, where it will shake up prime-time at the earlier timeslot of 10pm on NBC.
Jerry Seinfeld will be the a guest of the first episode while Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West will perform “Run This Town.”
But the Comedy Channel in Australia isn’t picking up the show this year.
A spokesperson recently told TV Tonight the channel was already committed to Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon and soon Jimmy Kimmel.
Despite The Tonight Show with Jay Leno being a channel regular, it looks like the new show could go begging unless another channel has picked up the rights.

@Johnny wasn’t Letterman on Arena for a long time?
I highly doubt any of the new FTA channels will take it on,or any other new shows in the future.The main channel is there priority
I hope channel 7 or nine pick it up and put it on at 10.30pm nightly.
That’s very disappointing – I much prefer him to Letterman and Conan and used to watch him every day on Comedy.
I agree with the The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson suggestion, he is so quick witted and funny! It’s a shame I can only see the eps on youtube 🙁
News out of the U.S. suggests a week of Letterman repeats beat Conan’s Tonight Show in overall viewers. Conan’s winning the >55 demographic. Which is what they wanted I guess.
Sad for Conan though. He wouldn’t want to be the one who drops the Tonight Show’s #1 baton.
Jay Leno is pathetic. If he didn’t go on air and beg to not be fired, right now he’d be at home with his barren wife, and somebody funny might get a chance to try something new.
The only thing worth watching on his new show will be little Jimmy Norton.
Wonder if 7’s second channel will pick it up?

jay jay: I would not be surprised if the Bio Channel picked up Leno, as that is where Letterman moved to the Comedy Channel from, they replaced Letterman with repeats of Judge Judy at 11:30pm so they could easily move Leno into that time slot or even have him at 10:30pm with a slight shuffle.
@JD but Conan, Fallon, Kimmel, Leno and Letterman all at once is overkill don’t you think?
They would probably have contactual obligations as to what time it can be shown etc.
Im sure Comedy promoted the new Leno when they aired his final week of shows a few months ago. Something has happened in the interim for them not to show it. I don’t think they will be happy as it was a high rater.
No doubt we will see it on a low rating Foxtel channel to give their ratings a boost…or perhaps 9 has the rights and have demanded it for GO!? Time will tell
Very disappointing considering we have a replay of the Letterman show at 12:00 and the terrible Man show on after that. They could have easier put Leno on at 10:30 and push everything back one show and get rid of the Man show at 12:45
if Comedy isn’t getting it another Foxtel O&O probably is it. My guess is Arena as their ratings aren’t that crash hot at the moment. It would definitely give them a boost….but then again, doesn’t really suit their demo.

It would be great if Channel 7 could pick this show up and show it at around 11.30 or Midnight Monday to Friday. Another Foxtel channel like Arena could still pick up the show. Jay Leno is the best.
I don’t “get” Leno. More a Conan man myself. And Jimmy K? Was there a buy one get one free sale over at NBC?

I immediatley thought about this moving onto Go!, bump Just Shoot Me back and put this on insted and drop Ellen.
Seven need to get their second channel up and running – this would be good at 9:30 PM weeknights.

Channel 7 seems to have an ongoing relationship with NBC/Universal – I would think they’d pick up that sort of thing first…..If only they had a second channel…..

Jay Leno bored me before and I rarely watched unless it was someone I really really wanted to see, so no loss for me (I have not mussed him one bit in other words).
Though I wish they would pick up The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (was Mr. Wick on The Drew Carey Show), it is the best Talk Show on US TV, much better interviews than the others and fantastic monologues I regularly get my fix on YouTube however would love to see it in full.

The number one reason I never really watch Leno was he was not on FTA and even with The Comedy Channel it was not on at a good time, always other things on.
I think Nine/Seven would be wise to pick it up for their secondary digital channels – would be a nice little exclusive; and depending on classification could fill an earlier night slot say 7.30 rather than TMZ trash………But then again it probably wouldn’t be able to be shown prior to 8.30.
