Kyle insults Magda
Former Australian Idol judge Kyle Sandilands yesterday said Magda Szubanski could lose weight by spending time in a concentration camp.

Former Australian Idol judge Kyle Sandilands yesterday attracted media attention once more when he suggested actress Magda Szubanski could lose weight by spending time in a concentration camp.
He made the comments during his Austereo radio show
When referring to her weight loss deal with Jenny Craig, Sandilands said of Szubanski, “Magda could have another run out of it.
“She could get another season out of them, easy … she’s not skinny.”
He added, “You put her in a concentration camp and you watch the weight fall, like she could be skinny.”
His comments follow his dumping from a high profile television role after a radio prank backfired. While some fans have suggested Idol would do better with, than without him, the latest comments while only make TEN look like it made the right move after all.
Szubanski, whose family is of Polish descent, said to trivialise what happened in concentration camps was abhorrent.
Last night she premiered her new TEN show The Spearman Experiment.

At this point, not only should Kyle be sacked, but I’d also have my sights out for the program director for not dumping this comment. Back when I used to listen to Howard Stern, I remember the last few weeks before he was taken off terrestrial radio, the program director was hovering over the dump button like a hawk, guaranteeing nothing the least bit offensive went on the air. Kyle has proven he cannot be trusted, so I almost think the blame should be on his supervisors for not stopping this.
As we all know, Kyle has been suspended again therefore David could I make a request that when you post something about the sacking could you close off the comments : I am so over these Kyle discussions 🙂

magdas show was so disappointing last night. what a waste of a good promotion, it got me excited. when other networks rip off a show atleast they try to do some one-upping. i thought they might have done a studio audience with a panel type of thing.
in the last few years ten have been quite good with their lack of ripoffs. but now with such a crime of the highest order in copying they are down to the level of the other commercials.
it deserved the ratings it got and i’m sure it’s only downhill from here.
Larry David moment of the week – Kyle keeps getting himself in these predicament; I understand what they’re referring to but his comments always go that bit too far; he didn’t say it in an offensive manner; he said Magda still had weight to loose – which is obviously true; Jackie said that may she can’t loose any more because of her build, kyle proceeded to then say “That’s what all fat people say, put her in a concentration camp and watch the weight fall off her”, media always take the inappropriate comment out of context which gives him an even worse name than he already has.
I don’t mind Kyle; but he shouldn’t be one to judge on weight loss.
To put aside just how offensive the remark is for a moment, Kyle should be smart enough not to attack someone with higher Q scores than him. Because Kyle has no live experience doing comedy he hasn’t learned the lessons a lot of performers have. i.e he’s never said something that’s not funny and heard the crickets or copped the abuse from a crowd. I really think he might be a psychopath. Where was the dump button I wonder?
Wonder if Kyle is trying to get sacked so he can get out of his contract and pursue overseas interests as he’s had a few meetings recently overseas.
People also seem to be forgetting that many gay individuals were sent to concentration camps during ww2 and forced to wear pink triangles. I think Kyle should have had more respect.

But then again, he only wants headlines this man. If he hasn’t said anything controversial, a switch in his head goes off and releases a deadly gas inside his body. Obviously it was time to create some more bs for the world to digest.
Leaving aside his obvious crassness, meanness of spirit and overall douchebaggery, I’m beginning to wonder if Kyle has some kind other problem. Given his constant blundering absence of tact, I’m wondering if he may have an Asperger’s-type issue. I mean this with no disrepect intended to Aspergers sufferers (I have a relative with the syndrome myself), nor to excuse the offensiveness of Kyle’s comments. I’m just wondering…
All I can think is, what’s Kyle talking about? I mean he isn’t exactly Mr. Slim, in fact I’m pretty sure he weighs quite a bit more than Magda- and with the way he’s going, he won’t be getting any smaller anytime soon.
As for the comments in general, I really don’t see the point in even mentioning his name now days.
The less said about Kyle the better. But how dissappointing is Spearman??. 20 to 1 with a bigger access to clipart. And sorry, but when did we get the opportunity to vote? Did I miss something? They should have started with; “For the last few months we’ve asked you to go to XXX and vote on XXX ” Did anyone vote – or see where you could?? Also, why start the fist ep with such a 20 to 1 subject?? A TV related topic – featuring your host??!! better to have 3 topics in the 60 mins – maybe one from media – but 2 from other walks of life: Top things we hate to eat. Top things we fear about a blind date. Whatever. This ranks of a one series.

New low. No, concentration camps are not something to make a joke about. Dear god, do people think the murder of millions of Jewish people, as well as the torture and starvation of millions of others is amusing? Why not use tragedy for a cheap punchline for an idiotic moron. ?!?! The supporters that this moron has really just prove themselves to be idiots time after time – “oh, it was just a joke”. Go and take a tour of Auschwitz, then call it a joke. Look at the video taken by the BBC when they entered Belsen, and call it a joke. My grandfather was a POW during WWII. A few years after he returned, he died, from a heart attack, because his heart was weakened from the daily starvation, overwork and violence he was exposed to. So, no, we still can’t joke about concentration camps and WWII. Those emotional scars will be felt for generations to come. Maybe Kyle should consider making a donation to Legacy or the Jewish museum instead of making a cheap apology. Prove that he actually regrets his actions.

But it’s interesting how all this came on the very day Magda’s new show aired – free publicity at its best.
As for 20 to 1 – oops! The Spearman Experiment – what a complete rip-off. It doesn’t even make the effort to differentiate itself from Bert’s show.
I’m afraid this little effort won’t last – even with bad/good publicity.
The fact that he still has access to a medium that allows him to publicly make these offensive, uneducated comments is almost as offensive as the comments themselves.
Austereo needs to grow a pair and get rid of him.
What a waste of space that Kyle is. I stopped watching BB when he came on board stopped watching AI and not a 13 year old boy so I would not listen to his radio show. Insulting Magda is the American equivalent of insulting Oprah. She is almost beloved here. She can make me and millions more laugh which is a nice little weapon she has also she is an extreamly smart cookie. Kyle is the polar opposite of her. She has talent.
I watched 5 mins of that show and flicked over to 20 to 1, same thing just better executed and that is saying something, bye bye Magda, another flop I reckon
Just saying that crap to make the headlines again. Honestly the best reaction would be to ignore whatever he says and not give him the attention.
Kyle was merely pointing out if you put a fat person in a situation with no Food they will lose weight. he just used a C,Camp as an example, not a good example. But he did not say she should go to one to lose weight.
Why would Kyle go there? Just proves that he is not only insensitive, but ignorant and obviously oblivious to the connection with Magda being from Polish descent and the concentration camps. What happened to the delay button on his radio show, or is the person pushing that as stupid as Kyle? I hope the media has a field day with this one because with a comment like that, he deserves it. Not to mention the fact that he is overweight himself and refuses to do anything about losing weight or getting healthy. The hole he is digging for his career’s grave just keeps getting deeper!
