Channel Nine launched its new station IDs and slogan today, “Welcome Home.”
The ID follows an earlier report that the network would draw upon “The Home of TV.”
Unlike previous promos, it has limited new footage filmed, with the Nine logo supered into footage of established shows.

I can’t understand how the ABC, who presumably have less budget for their marketing department, can leave the commercial networks so far behind when it comes to branding. I think the ABC is above and beyond the leader in terms of their IDs etc closely followed by the SBS. The commercial networks, especially 9, need to pull their collective fingers out.
I don’t mind them, but as mentioned the font for welcome home is truly awful.
Quite similar to the ‘everyone’s home’ campaign tag by seven…
What happend to the “We are still the one” promos by Nine. They have got no hope catching channel 7 in the next 5-10 years. 7 leads in all departments. News, Sport and entertainment.
How many times can they use the shot of the body (covered by 3D words) falling from the sky in The Mentalist in promos?
Seriously.
another week another anti-seven comment from michael
pathetic michael pathetic
Talking about watermarks, 7 and 7HD (at least in Brisbane) have replaced the usual watermarks with one that simply reads “FlashForward Tomorrow 8.30” (yes all caps).
Funny thing is both shows that are now on (Border Security and Chicken Little) are G-rated shows, advertising an M rated shows. Very bad form Seven.
Hideous. But it’s perfect for Nine’s image.
I’ll reserve my judgment until I see the promo on TV.
WIN’s is different somewhat. I’m not much of a fan… It’s to blue.
WIN has moved there logo slightly more towards the right of the screen and the HD Channel enters it’s third month nealy ‘under maintenance’
Dino: 1979, to be exact… Welcome, Welcome, Welcome home to ITV…
not bad not bad. I hate how the WIN Adelaide and Perth stations refuse to have the dots, really ruins the whole effect so unfortunately Nine still looks s*** here
Bring Back Nine For Queensland!
Bring Back Extra!
We won’t come home until we have’ta.
Love the 3D look but as others have said the welcome home font is appalling.
Eugh. More obnoxious poorly lit 3D CGI.
chill out michael. If people think it looks s**t they have every right to express that opinion, just as you do to dribble over how fantastic it is.
The logo looks quite nice, but hello 1970 with that ‘welcome home’ font.
It’s very 3D isn’t it? Kinda like their 2002-2006 look except transparent. But I’ll reserve my proper judgement until I see it on TV.
Nine HD also got a new logo wiht the word ‘High-Def’ underneath the no 9.
You complaining about Seven’s new SD channel got boring a long time ago!
Im not a Nine Fan per se but i must say this is a great effort. But i think its nine that needs to update its ident the least, Seven have seemed to have theres for yonks now and ten always has boring ones that dont incorporate its main logo anywhere but at the end.
Some elements of it are nice. But that Welcome Homefont is horrid. Also if you listen to the ident and signpost, they have used the “Still the one” theme.
the ident is quite good, but the rest of the package; the “tonight on” the endboards, the promos and sponsorboards are fugly fugly fugly.
what were they thinking with the font for “welcome home”
Logo looks better, but not liking their choice of song :S
They’ve also slightly altered the NineNews water mark
Channel Seven are absolutely nuts with superimposing crap into footage of their shows. It has always irked me.
At least Nine has done it a little classier.
This is hilarious. Massive Nine balls in the middle of Eddie Everywhere and their derivative Bruckheimer procedurals. At least with the main channel they keep their horrid shows off Go.
Looks great….. love it…. Gotta give em credit for trying.
Just waiting now for the Nine haters to bag it. It’s boring now, but so expected.
