Seven to fast forward Amazing Race

Fans of The Amazing Race, strap yourselves in. Season 15 is not far off.

philkFans of The Amazing Race, strap yourselves in.

TV Tonight can reveal Channel Seven will be fastracking the 15th season of the popular reality contest.

The fourteenth season is currently screening on air, to a particularly loyal audience, most of whom shifted with the show when it moved timeslots from 7:30 to 8:30 last week. Those figures could increase if the show hits our screens fast after the US premiere.

Season 15 airs in the US on September 27th.

An Aussie airdate is yet to be confirmed.

And remember, the last team to arrive may be eliminated.

  1. Great program. Why do C7 insist on running running single episodes each week till the end then running 2 epsiodes back to back. My children enjoy this program. When it was on at 7:30 they could watch. Then it moves to 8:30 and with some flexibility on bed time they can still watch. But back to back episodes wont finnish till closer to 10:45 (given they never run on time) so its too late. They always (year in and year out) mss out on seeing who wins.

Why cant’ C7 just stick to a schedule?

  2. I think 7 should keep TAR at 8:30. the ratings were the same as at 7:30 but it did put a good dent in rush. a great lineup would be:
7:30 – Beauty and the Geek Australia
8:30 – The Amazing Race (FT)
    9:30 – Gary Unmarried (double)
    10:30 – Family Guy (R)
    11:00 – American Dad
    and it should rate well.

  3. Yay! If they show each episode withing a few days I won’t even think about using my Commodore 64 and 7 will get value out of me seeing their paid commercials.

    Think there’s a lesson there?

  4. Hope they move it back to 7.30 then. The new one fast tracked will do alot better than the current series, and certainly would outrate Gary Unmarried by a long shot. I would be very surprised if Gary lasts at 7.30 Thursday for anymore than the next week or two.

Oct 1 might also be the night for Beauty and the Geek!

  5. @ Adam: The last 4 episodes of the current series will be shown in double episode blocks on September 17 and 24 at 8.30pm. Which should allow Seven to the next series on October 1.

  6. I’ll believe it when I see it (on-screen).

But it would be amazing if true (pun intended). It’s way too hard going on media-blackouts to avoid learning who the winner is when most US entertainment websites cover the show.

  7. If Seven play out the current series as one episode a week this will have the new season starting on October 15 which is still too late. They’d need to either start doubling up the current series or double up the new one once it premieres to prevent viewer loss.

Though i do applaud seven. When was the last time they played back to back seasons of the race. And it seems like we’ve been six months behind forever. But doing this seems to be risky as viewers may not be willing to pick up a new set of racers so soon.

Perhaps this will premiere sooner and overlap the current reason as part of their multi channel 😉
