1. Ten seriously need to start advertising one hd in primetime on channel 10, i very rarely see whats happening on one hd without having to go to the channel ( which i don’t ) if ten did what 7 are doing like coming up on ten and also coming up on one hd i think it might grab some more viewers, plus alot of old farts out there prob wouldnt know there is a one hd

  2. Wow, these are the shows that beat the the 7pm project on friday night
Deal or No Deal, Hot Seat, Spearmint Experiment, mean girls, harry potter, 6pm simpsons

The two big surprises are Mean Girls (Are there people who haven’t seen it yet?) and Spearmint Experiment!

  3. @jerome take a look from this weeks media watch from abc. they brought out an a current affair story fudging the facts on refugees. mind you all stations make mistakes like that from time to time but a story does not help their news department.

@wambue 30 rock is not a big ratings even in america. my guess is that the sitcom laughtrack or not sadly is a dying art. which is sad as i like to laugh.

Dexter was a good episdoe last night and im looking forward as to how he talks about his feelings with miguel “missing”

A massive ratings for midsummer. Australia must love kooky brits. Even at 28 i don’t mind it from time to time.

Worlds fastest indian was a great film i just hope ten don’t over repeat it too much. Love actually comes to mind on that topic.

  4. what is going on with 9 news. the numbers it’s been been getting lately are so low. some of the lowest october ratings ever. someone will say daylight savings but 7 DLS never has this much impact this early. and 7 is still getting its usual figs.

  5. David you wouldn’t know how the 50 years flashback went in brisbane on friday night i thought i would of rated well for them but didn’t see it in the ratings for friday.

  6. Bad Friday night for Ten. Better Homes continues to rate well. Today Show shines in Melbourne, thanks to the show being in Mebourne City. Hot Seat losing numbers.

  7. I sometimes wonder if 30 Rock is too NBC for international audiences, what with it actually being set in NBC Studios

wonder where the Friday ratings are

  8. @bette streep 30 rock is a great show, glee and rush i have not watched much, so at this stage i will wait a while before commenting on them, human behaviour i have plenty of that

  9. Bette Streep,
Rush should stay at 8.30 – 9.30 it too late. Lie To Me Works for TEN on Tuesdays anyway but I agree Glee would be better on Tuesdays 7.30.

  10. Couldn’t agree more with Jed about Hughesy. He should not be on 7pm 4 nights a week and brings nothing to the show. It’s much better without him on Fridays (even though the ratings are lower but that is a result of people not being home).

  11. frankie – I don’t work for a media outlet – am interested in human behaviour though.

When 2.5 men were first aired – it bombed – and I thought that was the end of it. Nine succesfully marketed it over the non ratings period and now they have a bona fide ratings success – even thought it is the same show that initially bombed!

I don’t understand why this unfunny sitcom is a ratings success when clever original and hilarious comedies like 30 Rock are buried at midnight (well not anymore thanks to Seven2!)

Speaking of which – Glee and Rush should be rescheduled. These are 2 top quality shows that deserve much better.

I’d put Glee on 7;30pm Tuesdays and put Rush on 9:30pm Tuesdays. Whenever Rush is up against another crime show like Criminal Minds or CSI it suffers. Put it up against Private Practice and give viewers a choice.

  12. Mott mentioned they were still tinkering with 7PM Project didn;t he, do we know what he’s considering? I find the show so much more enjoyable without Dave Hughes, and although I do prefer Charlie, Andrew G hasn;t been bad. With no H&A, maybe no 2.5 Men over summer it could pick up a bit of a following. All Ten need to do is listen to what we’re saying on how to improve it. Ten are usually the only network who actually listen to viewers.

  13. @frankie lupo, basically, people hear a laugh track, so they laugh as well. Doesn’t mean they actually/necessarily find it funny, but they hear the laugh track, laugh themselves thus assuming it must be a funny show. If that makes sense. I know what i mean. Arrested Development, 30 Rock, The Office three great comedies that don’t have a laugh track and they have no audioence at all here. Australians wouldn’t know when to laugh.

  14. @ jed sorry i do understand what you say, but i dont understand what bette streep sez or means i am not trying to be cryptic with my answers just honest

  15. @frankie lupo, can’t speak for bette streep, but that’s not what she said, she said her neighbour likes 2.5 men cos of the laugh track, cos she hears the laugh track and laughs as well. I think that’s prob why so many people think it’s a funny show, they play the laugh track so much, that people feel forced to laugh, thus thinking that since they’re laughing so much, it must be funny. And i do think laugh tracks influence people, last night watching Glee, my mum only began to laugh at things when i did. When i wasn’t in the room she hardly laughed at it.

  16. The expensive Rush was absolutely humilated by the cheap trash Beauty & the Geek last night. Rush is so lucky it was picked up when it was, because its current numbers, considering the pathetic competition, are a joke!

  17. Eventhough this probably won’t happen, Nine should seriously consider moving the Today Show to Melbourne permanently. Thursday’s ratings were up in Melbourne because the show was there for Thursday and Friday for the Melbourne Cup. And Today generally wins in Melbourne, beating Sunrise.

However, Today has also picked up recently in Sydney, so they wouldn’t want to ruin that.
