No radio for Rove

Rove McManus has ruled out a move to Sydney radio but says everything else is "up for grabs."

rv9Rove McManus has ruled out a move to Sydney radio according to a spokeswoman. And presumably links from Melbourne too, right? After all some Aussie radio hosts sit in another country and still turn up on air.

The former TEN host had everybody guessing after quitting his show, particularly after he and Pete Helliar had -apparently- been spotted having chats with Merrick Watts and Nova.

Otherwise she added, “everything is up for grabs,” including potential US gigs. Once again, Immunity is back up for grabs?

Wisely, the team is not ruling very much in or out. It’s most surely way too soon.

Even KRudd has weighed in to the farewells for McManus, noting, “After 10 good years his show will be missed by many and I am sure that in whatever he chooses to do next, he will continue his fine tradition of doing it well.”

No more Ruddy parodies, eh?  ***cue laugh***

On his Twitter posts, Rove simply says, “Thank you everyone! Rover and out.”

Aww, no fair. Now tell us what you really thunk?

  1. @Belinda: I actually loved that radio show with Pete and Judith…. wasn’t it called “The Arvo”? I think it was… anyway, the only reason it was at times Hilariouswas because of Judith – she is such a pi**er. Peter Helliar? Not so much. I wish Judith Lucy would get a commercial radio gig again, but I understand that she does polarise listeners, and her humour may be a tad too dirty for commercial radio. Perhaps a late-night slot? I’d tune in for sure.

  2. @JM, Rove was on radio previously along with Pete and Corrine. It was broadcast in Sydney later on, but it was done from Melbourne and I think there only for a little while until they broadcast further thoroughout Australia. It was done from Fox FM studios in St Kilda, I believe.

I still remember some of the campaigns they had like ‘Free Sauce Tuesday’ (or it might have been Wednesday, or Sunday.. can’t quite recall the exact day).

  3. @Damo and Bass, Helliar’s radio performance with Judith Lucy in 2004 would be even more indicative of his chances of success in Sydney. Rove, Helliar and DMG would be crazy to even contemplate it.
