Actress Connie Hines, best known as Wilbur’s wife on the 1960s sitcom Mister Ed, has died, aged 79.
Her co-star Alan Young told the Los Angeles Times that Hines died on Friday at her home from complications of heart problems. “I lost a great friend. She was always joyous,” he said.
Hines portrayed Carol Post on the series for six seasons, a role that was never privvy to hearing the extraordinary gift of the talking horse, owned by husband Wilbur.
Other television appearances included Mod Squad, Bonanza, Love American Style, and Perry Mason.
She wrote a book in 2007 entitled “Mister Ed and Me and More.”
