Jodi Gordon is quitting Home and Away following a tumultuous year.

Gordon, who plays Martha McKenzie, will film her final scenes at the end of next month.

Last year she was at the centre of ferocious headlines following a now-notorious incident in which police were called to an apartment over an alleged break-in, which turned out to be a false alarm. A most-public split with Ryan Stokes, son of Seven’s Chairman Kerry Stokes, followed.

“Jodi has put in a tremendous five years on Home and Away,” a spokeswoman told the Herald Sun.

“It was a mutual decision for her to take this next step in her career.

“Jodi will always be part of the Seven family and has our love and support as she moves forward.”

Last year she returned to the public spotlight at a a MAC Style Black cosmetics function, but was unavailable for interviews.

With filming for the soap several months ahead, she should continue to be seen for some time yet.

  1. You will deffently be missed, your an amazing actor, good luck for the future.

    One thing that i would like to say is please don’t let her die out of the show, so many shows do that and it just makes the ending of her time on the show sad, make it a happy ending for her time on home and away.

  3. Wish the producers were able to convince her to stay. How good have the twists and turns in the storyline been this week? Hopefully Martha will find out Hugo is still alive before she leaves.

  4. She’s really good looking! Yet, I’m troubled with the line, “Jodi will always be part of the Seven family” knowing that she had relations with Kerry Stoke’s son last year. What kind of “family” is that? This, coming from somebody who happens to live in Tasmania. 😉

  5. i wonder how she’ll be written out. She survived cancer, and she’s had probably another 2 dozen brushes with death over the 5 year lifetime of the character.

  7. Glad she’s going – she was shocking on Home and Away and won’t be missed.

    They should get rid of Tony and Rachel as well – both dull characters.

  10. Funnily Enough was just thinking last night how many more years she’d put in before moving on – I thought 2012/13 as well.

    As Martha she’s had some of the Biggest and most crazy storylines in Her Five years on the show, so Well done Jodi and Good Luck for your career after H&A. 😀

  12. Isn’t it Martha Macklin-Stewart-McKenzie-Holden?
    Brett Macklin is her father, Roo Stewart her mother, McKenzie her adoptive family &
    Holden her married name in which she is widowed.
