TEN unveils early premieres

The Biggest Loser, So You Think You Can Dance, Good News Week, Burn Notice, House, Medium, and White Collar will all return in the week of January 31st.

TEN has revealed its programming for the week of January 31st which, as expected, unveils several of its key titles ahead of official ratings.

It includes The Biggest Loser, So You Think You Can Dance Australia, Good News Week, Burn Notice, House, Medium, and White Collar.

The Biggest Loser with new host Hayley Lewis is stripped at 7:30pm weeknights following The 7PM Project, while the line-up also includes the premiere of Ross Noble’s Australian Trip and the late-night return of Army Wives. Little else changes in the schedule so far, with 9AM Summertime also still in place.

TEN’s strategy in recent years has always been to launch key shows ahead of ratings and Seven will do likewise. Additional titles will no doubt appear once ratings resume on February 7th.

6:30pm The Biggest Loser. Season Premiere.
7:30pm So You Think You Can Dance Australia. Season Premiere.
    9:00pm House. Season Premiere.

TEN, do not do this. This will be smashed by the tennis. Why not air rpt movies on Sunday and premiere these shows another day?

  2. Hmmm.. out of all that I’ll probably just be watching Neighbours, 7Pm Project, bits of SYTYCD, Ross Noble, and the occasional David Letterman.

I do like Merlin, but haven’t been really watching the repeats as I’ve already seen them. I wonder when 10 will start airing the second series?

  3. Oh my god, what are they thinking. The biggest losser will not work at 7.30pm. Oh dear lord get a grip ten. Put the 7pm project on ice, go with what you know works. Oh dear lord worst thing i ever saw. 7.30pm ill stick with other networks and give Biggest Losser a miss this year. It wont work at 7.30pm….

  4. People Power will win in the end, at the moment please look at my Facebook Group called Bring Nicktoons and Disney XD to Australia and sign up as a Member so the more members we get, the greater the chances.

  5. If House wasn’t dead in this country already, it will be after its move to Sunday. Ten could not have chosen a worse night to air it on, especially with the premiere up against The Australian Open Mens Final.

  6. Its not a bad schedule – Im happy they are getting through majority of the Dance Auditions in non-ratings, they get boring. Id probably have the House season return on Friday after the NCIS repeat and play a movie at 9.00 Sunday.

Im sure new NCIS will return on the 9th when Dance Auditions are done with. Same with NCIS LA and The Good Wife.

  7. TEN – are you reading this ? We’re blogging. Really, shift Letterman to prime time. You won’t regret it.

Also, couls Ross Noble stop stealing Billy Connolly’s act from 30 years ago?

  8. 10 just had a 2 or 3 minute Biggest Loser promo on.

It appears they’re going to be doing Master Chef style cooking challenges this year.

Any word on the time slot, David? What will happen to 7pm Project?

  9. @ aznfratboy – actually, last year House dropped quite badly from previous figures. It was rating under 1m for most of the season last year on Wednesdays.

  10. And I suspect the daily edition of Australia’s Funniest Home Videos was to be a summer fill-in program before Two and a Half returns.

Also does anyone think 9 will air any new eps of Two and a Half Men soon enough?

  11. Why is White Collar on at 9.30pm Friday?

Ah well looks like Time Shifting will record my viewing of it later!

Glad it will be back soon! I liked the tiwst at the end of the last episode.

  12. I’m guessing the 6.5 hours of Dance are so they can get through the all the lower rating audition episodes during a non ratings week. Things should settle down to more of a normal program the following week.

Interesting to note that the program running times each day for Loser are the same as Masterchef was. Loser will even have a masterclass this year.

Hopefully that week is the last week that Ten air late night 7pm project repeats.

  13. Weird schedule, House on Sundays is worth a shot since its been failing on Wednesdays for around two years now. But why they’re persisting with the 7pm project is beyond me, its going to be absolutely slaughtered along with bringing down the ratings for Biggest Loser and SYTYCD. I expect next week we’ll see the return of NCIS:LA. But what of Modern Family and the Good Wife?

Looks to me like they’re burning off SYTYCD audition episodes so they can get to the finals early.

  14. Way to much Dance.
House on a Sunday – Why!!! This show is plummeting in ratings, and they put it on the biggest night of the week?
Whats with all the 10pm start times. Everyone knows shows in AUS start on the 1/2 hour. This is not the US.

  15. So in 2010, Sunday nights will be House vs. CSI or Underbelly vs. Bones.

Good to see GNW back!, but don’t bump it to 9.30pm & also bring back “Supernatural”!!. GNW & SPN worked very well last year!

  16. Wake up Cannel 10! You dump the best shows on TV (e.g. Supernatural, Stargate) and then you program shows that wouldn’t stimulate bacteria on rotting fruit. Listen to your audience. I vote we all boycott channel 10 until they grow some, and say sorry to the lost TV show generation.
