Renewed: Parks and Recreation

Since replacing Kath & Kim, NBC's comedy with Amy Poehler has been doing quite nicely thankyou.

NBC has given Parks and Recreation an early renewal for a third season.

Given the go ahead of other network comedies, a spokesperson insists the early pickup was done strictly to lock in actors’ schedules.

The comedy, originally given a mid-season kiss of life following the demise of Kath & Kim, has lifted from its soft start.

The comedy starring Amy Poehler and Aziz Ansari, has been gaining steam this season both creatively and in ratings.

Seven has been airing the comedy over summer but is now out of schedule.

  1. Thanks for your responses corey and daniel247, why can’t seven show it either late at night, say 11:30pm or something, or on 7Two, why bother showing a handful of season 2 episodes and then remove it from the scehedule, it is not like they have anything else to show at 11:30pm on a weeknight.

  2. @Matt. Season 2, Episode 5.

It’s really great news that this show has been renewed! It’s a real shame that Seven decided not to return it after Summer into February 2010. I’ve really been enjoying the series.

  3. I love P&R, Amy is adorable as Leslie Knope and her friendship with Ann is awesome. Plus Aubrey Plaza does that perfect dead-pan April which never fails to make me laugh.

  4. And any chance when it will be back in Seven’s schedule??? It’s a great show, and would be perfect in a decent timeslot following 30 Rock. They really need to put it on Thursdays. HIMYM, Cougar Town, Scrubs, 30 Rocks, Parks and Recreation. You have a whole night’s line up there.
