Wrestling fans take note: WWE Afterburn is moving to a new regular timeslot of 12am Wednesdays on Nine.
The show, which recaps the best matches and interviews of the week from WWE SmackDown, will shift to the new time from Wednesday March 24th.
That’s Tuesday night, of course…
It had previously aired on Sunday arvos.

john cena should come back
Thank God for that, at least now they don’t have to mess with Thursday night’s episodes of The Avengers!
I believe Nine (along with NBN & Imparja) had to move this because they have ‘encore’ screenings of ‘Survivor’ & ‘V’ later on Sundays for the foreseeable future. Yet, the WIN Regional network has always aired ‘WWE Afterburn’ on Thursday nights (Friday morning) at 2am, so I don’t think this move will affect those viewers. Unless WIN wake up & finally drop those unnecessary late-night repeats of ‘Ellen.’
I think WWE could do very well on GO, if they could pick up one of 2 of the other shows it could really boost its share.
ONE’s best night is always Thursday when there is no AFL Game during the week, largely off the back of UFC and TNA.
Even TNA gets better coverage on One. Maybe it’s time to move the WWE to Go?
It had not been on at midday Sunday for quite some time, at least in WA.
Nice Move.. with the WWE’s upcoming tour of Australia. What better way to help it by putting Afterburn on in Dead-Air time!
