Gumboot-wearing girl dirtgirlworld, who grows awesome tomatoes, knows cloud names and drives a big orange tracto, will soon be seen in the US.
24hour preschoolers channel, Sprout, will screen the series on Sprout Earth Day, Thursday, April 22nd with “Sprout’s Dig Into Earth Day with dirtgirlworld” marathon, featuring select episodes of the eco-friendly series.
“Bringing dirtgirlworld to the U.S. is just amazing for us,” said writer/producer Cate McQuillen. “We know that Sprout cares about kids and we wanted a home for dirtgirlworld that cared about kids. We can’t think of anywhere better for us to be.”
“Sprout genuinely understands the qualities that makes this series so special and they share our vision that children’s television can change the world and be entertaining at the same time.”
dirtgirlworld, co-created with composer/writer Hewey Eustace, is currently screening at 8am on ABC 1 and at 1.30pm on ABC 2 in Australia, and regularly figures in the top ten rating programs on CBeebies, the BBC’s Children’s Channel in the UK.
It also screens on BBC1 and airs in Canada.
