ABC3’s dirtgirlworld has won an International Digital Emmy Award at MIPTV in Cannes.
The show from mememe productions in Northern NSW was the only Australian company to receive a nomination, let along a win.
dirtgirlworld centres around “a gumboot-wearing girl who grows awesome tomatoes, knows cloud names and drives a big orange tractor.” It takes place in a world of bizarre insects, underground tunnels, vaudevillian trained chickens and performing stunt bugs.
Behind the show there are important environmental themes for kids, learning to protect what we love.
The show is seen in 128 countries, mostly on public broadcasters, including CBeebies in the UK, CBC in Canada, and PBS kids Sprout in the US.
