John Barrowman for Glee?

"I’m not sure what kind of character I’d like to play, maybe I could be a teacher," says the Torchwood star.

UK actor John Barrowman will have discussions with Glee producers in LA soon.

The Torchwood star told The Mirror, “I absolutely love the show. What would I play in it? I’m not sure what kind of character I’d like to play, maybe I could be a teacher, you know, another teacher who comes in and helps out.

“That’s me just kind of brainstorming but the fact that they want to have a meeting with me is really quite nice in itself, it’s so exciting!”

Barrowman, who has done a number of music theatre roles, is set to begin work on his 6 episode arc in Desperate Housewives.

As for the future of Torchwood, he says there had still been no green light yet, even though Russell T Davies has said he’s already written another 15 episodes.

“If I’m asked to go back and do Torchwood, I will at the drop of a hat go and do it. It’s just a question of when,” says Barrowman.

  1. It’s bad enough he shows up on bloody everything in the UK without him ruining US shows too! Can’t you guys find him a role on Neighbours or something – that would keep him busy, and i never watch it so keep my screen Barrowman free!

  2. He would be a scream in Glee … can just imagine how the gay character would follow him around like a puppy!

Looking forward to him raising hell in Desperate Housewives!

As for Torchwood … I have no doubt that it will be back for a fourth year, but it may well be a mix of UK and USA episodes, since the powers behind it from BBC Wales are now living and working in the US … I also think John meant that Russell T Davies has “planned” another 15 episodes, not written 15 more episodes … he is notorious for writing scripts at the last minute, as is proven in his latest brilliant book “The Writer’s Tale – The Final Chapter”

    Jack!
