  1. It has just been announced on NT News that One HD will start beaming into Darwin on April 22 at 7:30 pm See article on ntnews.com.au/article/2010/03/25/134441_ntnews.html

It means One HD will finally be here in Darwin soon.

  2. I Think One HD has provided great sports coverage.
Love the F1, NFL IPL cricket and Nascar especially.
Agree that if they could get some NRL and Rugby it would make it even better.
    Keep it up.

  3. @pietro Proper HD should be back mid year, it is all part of WIN’s preparation for Nine starting a third channel on the HD service. Southern Cross did the same work before One, only at least WIN is doing it before it launches so they come online at the same time.

  4. Just noticed that we have the ridiculous situation tonight where ONE can’t show the AFL in Brisbane or Sydney live because they are not showing it on TEN until 11.30pm.
The sooner these laws get changed the better. It benefits nobody !

  5. I have ONE on my Foxtel in Brisbane – channel 531 with all the other sports channels.

Didn’t realise that ONE had all the commonwealth games, will they be allowed to show it on ONE before showing it on TEN, or will they be allowed to show different sports on ONE to what they show on TEN??

  6. I think One HD is probably the highest quality 2nd channel from all our networks, the others all have a certain cheapness to them- that’s not to say that I don’t end up watching more GO and seven2 content.

I wish more league and union was shown on the channel, certainly the better 2 footy codes out of Australias 3 (sorry afl).

  7. The ratings of One would be a lot higher if they were on Foxtel IMO, we now have 7, 72, 9 & 99… and people have no reason to flick over to normal TV for One and to be honest the only thing I ever remember to flick over to is the F1…

  8. As much as I love watching UFC and the Superbowl in HD.. I miss the normal Ch. 10 shows in HD.. you know, the ones who spend thousands if not millions on upgrading their cameras and equipment for HD?

  9. As time passes, ONE is improving on content. I am now a solid viewer of UFC, Formula 1, NBA, Sports Soup, NFL, MVP and Sports Tonight.

I hope ONE / TEN secure (some or all) the rights to the NRL. Purchasing at least 4 games for National exposure (Friday 19:30, Saturday 17:30, Sunday 15:00 and Monday 19:00) would be great for the game, viewers, sponsors and the Network.

State of Origin and Test matches can go to Nine or Seven (for the right money of course).

  10. pietro: Nine showed all the Summer test, one day, and twenty20 cricket in HD. The NRL is in HD. And most of their prime-time and daytime programs are in native HD. Not really pathetic …

  11. One just needs to pick up a couple of summer sports to complement the winter sports of AFL and Formula 1. It would be great if the anti-syphoning list changes and they can show AFL games live on ONE before they air on 10, this would really boost the ratings of ONE.

  12. There’s no doubt that ONE HD is about the only source of quality High Definition on FTA TV in Australia, and that is a disgrace.

And even though the ratings are almost zero, TEN network does seem to be trying, with even the swimming championships in HD compared with Nine’s dismal efforts for years.

It’s a shame they don’t have all the AFL matches and the cricket.
