As if there was any doubt….
Showtime loves its ladies, with both United States of Tara and Nurse Jackie receiving renewals for third seasons.
“Showtime is enormously proud of these two series starring two of the best actresses working today,” said Robert Greenblatt, president of entertainment, Showtime.
“Both are iconic shows for our brand and our thanks to the dedicated producers, cast, and crews who work so hard to make them so great. Edie Falco’s portrayal of the fierce Jackie is another extraordinary example of her range and brilliance, and recent Emmy and Golden Globe wins for Toni Collette in her tour de force role as a woman with multiple personalities put her in a class by herself. Strong women will continue to rule on this network for a long time to come.”
You can say that again. Showtime’s next leading lady is Laura Linney in The Big C, due to air in August in the US.

Nah, I’ve watched the whole trailer now and know that it’s actually Matt Preston.
Great news, love both series. Also a fan of Laura Linney. Was that Mike Myers in the trailer?
Good news. Strange that we are still waiting for the first season of United States of Tara to be released on DVD here.
When will the second season of United States of Tara air in Australia?
So any local air dates for the ladies?
Craig, you oughta know by now life doesn’t work like this, alas….
Great news! UST is superb.
And I think Abraxas beats Moonflower (just).
Good news.
