So what are the top television-related websites in Australia? The results are pretty exciting....

So what are the top television-related websites in Australia?

Media and marketing website Mumbrella has listed the web results for March as ranked by Nielsen Market Intelligence, which logs sites with advertisements (ABC sites, for example, are exempt) based on Australian traffic.

Although not audited, the sites were ranked with Monthly Unique Browsers and Monthly Page Impressions.

1. Yahoo!7 TV – 1,628,938  / 13,003,829
2. TVFix – 1,259,679  / 15,180,249
3. TV.com – 563,767 / 3,884,342
4. Channel Ten – 529,684 / 2,691,937
5. Foxtel – 519,130 / 3,688,077
6. BigPond TV – 362,312 / 715,297
7. Channel Nine – 350,659  / 1,687,746
8. biggestloser.com.au – 277,681 / 2,592,872
9. dance.ten.com.au – 258,906 / 1,923,455
10. TV Tonight – 158,422 / 917,758

A big thankyou to loyal readers of this site for making TV Tonight the only independently-run site to make the Top Ten.

You’ve also put the site ahead of others in the Top 30 including Prime TV, Neighbours, SBS, FOX8, The 7PM Project, Rove Daily, MasterChef, Arena, The Comedy Channel, Australian Idol, SciFi, UK TV and more (and it’s still the only independent site amongst that list).

Since July last year TV Tonight has been hovering around 1,000,000 page impressions a month.

With MasterChef, Logies and Eurovision on the way, May will see the busiest traffic.

  1. Nice work David!

man, i still remember the humble beginnings of TV tonight; wasn’t the color theme of the site green? haha! Now this site has become a monster! Definitely deserves the top accolades.

    Keep up the excellent work!

  2. @animal: It’s usually due to legal reasons. A comment on a legally sensitive subject, could jeopardise any ongoing legal proceedings.

In short: It’s to protect the site and it’s commenters from possible litigation.

  3. Good Stuff David.

One grouch with the site, why is it some of the reporting you have, we can not give comments, i think that is grossly unfair!?!

    Any reason why David??

Like the latest one about the CHannel 9 cameraman, allegedly saying what he said to that bloke,

Why are we not allowed to make comments!?!

    1. Thanks guys. You’re all stars.

Animal: Comments are closed for stories still before the courts (as is the one you are referring to). If you think it’s unfair to you, it would be even more unfair to those expecting a fair trial and risking Contempt. I recently answered this question in TV Lounge.

  4. Well done david…… i have been critical of you in the past, but you have certainly raised your game and become quite an amazing reporter, and your reviews show no bias and are full of the exact information i crave when deciding what show I sit back to watch. I hope you remain successful for many years to come

  5. Congrads David. You are in the top 10 tv websites because you keep your readers up to date with excellent written articles. Keep up the great work.

  6. Well done David with having this blog of yours in the Top 10! I notice there is no mention of eBroadcast which is another site I refer to for tv related information. I’m surprised that Rove Daily is still popular, as Rove has finished his show about 5 or 6 months ago.

  7. Wow nice work david! I find this site to be the best out of those ten because it’s run indepentantly, not by a company with a vested monetary interest in tv.

  8. Congratulations, David. Your site is excellent and I use it daily for updates on shows, starting times and general TV information. It’s a well-designed site, attractively presented, easy to use, and always current. Great work!

  9. Congratulations David… you deserve that spot, well and truly. As for positions 1 to 9, must say I rarely, and I do mean rarely, even bother going to them to catch up on TV. TV Tonight is my first and only choice when it comes to TV news.
