At long last the very funny Modern Family will premiere on TEN.

Meet the modern family: Jay and his younger wife Gloria, and son Manny. Claire and her husband Phil, who wants to be hip for his three kids and couple Mitchell and Cameron and their Vietnamese baby.

The show will replace Bondi Rescue from 8pm Tuesday May 18th on TEN.

One worth catching….

  3. whether the show is good or not, i think ten will eventually drop modern family like they have with every other new overseas comedy they have aired recently. (ie: accidentally on purpose, worst week, Cleveland show, rules of engagement)

  9. I’m sick of the frakken ads for the show. It’s an overkill.
    I don’t know if I’ll watch it or not. The overkill of the ads has turned me off the show.

  13. Good slot sqeezed Inbetween masterchef and ncis on a night that’s there is no comedy on 7 or nine. Ten did well with generation here so I think this slot is the shows best chance to succeed. It’s been promoted well durin tbl final and masterchef launch week

  14. The Shows been picked up by the ABC Network in the US for a Second Season to premiere this September. I have Faith that Modern Family will get a good lead out from Masterchef and lead in to NCIS.

  15. This show is awesome stuff. I really hope Australians embrace it. Have seen it and it is just one of those shows that you want to watch over and over again. Besides Glee this show is the best new show to come out of America.

  16. One of the best comedies in years.A shame Ten held it off for so long as many people would’ve done what I’ve done and just downloaded it.The first season in the USA probably finishes around the time Ten will start showing it.

  17. @JB – Australian’s need a laugh track to think something’s funny? Really? Like Summer Heights High?

    I’m not a hundred percent sure this is going to flop in the same way as Arrested Development and 30 Rock, both of which aren’t nearly as mainstream as Modern Family. The reason Modern Family has become such a massive hit in the states is the same reason it should work here: everybody finds it funny, and not just comedy elitists like us.

  18. Best family-themed show since Raymond. One of the few shows that I stream from the US (along with Big Bang Theory)

    @ Jason, mate just watch the show coz the jokes coming from the gay couple are not your usual ones.

  19. Gotta agree with JB, Australians have a proven record of destroying funny comedys from the US. Looks funny and i will watch but i have a feeling this will end up on tens secondary channel when it launches.

    PS Ten, please put the office on your secondary channel 😉

  21. I think this will absolutely flop. I think it looks funny and will watch it, but it seems like one of those shows that Australian audiences just won’t get…meaning too stupid to understand. Arrested Development, 30 Rock best comedies, but they don’t work here. Australians need a laugh track to think something’s funny

    The Community is also v funny, watch it on Go! peeps.

  23. I’ll give it a shot, but the promos have made me cringe to be honest…

    And, I gotta say, A gay couple.. Really? It’s not that I hate gays, it’s just that including a gay pairing is such a cop out from the writers since the jokes and stereotypes are so easy to write for.

  24. One of the best network comedies to come out in a while, even if Phil does steal the show and the younger daughter doesn’t really do much.
