Gone: The Cleveland Show

Supernatural fans.... you're allowed to feel vindicated over this one.

Supernatural fans…. you’re allowed to feel vindicated over this one.

TEN has dumped The Cleveland Show from Monday nights.

It will be replaced by repeats of Glee from next Monday. That also pushed TEN Late News and Letterman back to 11pm / 11:45pm.

The animated comedy is another of TEN’s casualties in its late night Monday slot. This week it took just 354,000 viewers, lower than the 408,000 Supernatural attracted when it was dropped. But TEN’s Monday nights may well be tied to it insisting on Good News Week as a 90 minute show.

Cleveland could be destined for a slot on TEN’s next digital channel when it launches later this year.

Meanwhile the extra Glee rerun means you won’t be tied down to watching the first-run Thursday episodes.

Tomorrow’s ‘Madonna-episode’ will surely attract some good buzz.

  1. Stayed up and waded through the primordial goop that is the prison party games of Good News Week only to fall asleep agonizingly close to the start of the Cleveland Show. Im not sure it exists – it has always been this hazy ‘just before sleep’ montage where i am dribbling on my pillow as the Cleveland opening credits roll. Vale, although since I never knew it, I guess I won’t miss it?

  2. Make Good News Week a two hour programme then have your late night news and weather.
I see no point in them in them putting on something just to fill in thirty minutes to an hour If they must find some old Comedy Company or Benny Hill episodes if they have to replace the Cleveland Show.

  3. I don’t know whether to be happy or sad. Yes i’m an epic fan of Supernatural, and was really hoping that when i read that cleveland was gone, i was epically squeeing and hoping it would come back. But Glee is like the most corniest piece of rubbish ever. One episode a week is way too much. Its like ear shatteringly, mind explodingly bad. Lucikily for me i have boycotted ten til sn comes back, not that i had all that much to watch anyhu.

  4. GNW should just be on sunday nights, since Rove’s not on anymore and since both shows seem to always finish at different times then it wouldn’t hurt the following programs like Motor Sport and repeat movies on late sunday nights. then the monday night programs will finish on time.

Ten are gonna have so many low rating shows to play on their new channel – Cleaveland, Office, Supernatural and too many more to mention here. they shouldn’t even bother bringing back shows they know won’t rate, Im sure they thought Cleaveland wouldn’t rate that well, just hurry the hell up Ten and make your new channel, have it ready within a couple of months……Please!!!

  5. Cleavland show is so much better than American dad. And it beats most new family guy eps as well. However I must say that I though the 10Pm timeslot didn’t feel right for the show- I think it’s better saving it for when new simps and futurama come out.

  6. Bring back Futurama!

ITA that GNW is not what it used to be, it should be limited to 1 hours and not run over by 10 minutes like it used to. Bring Supernatural back but at 8:30 and put GNW on at the later time of 9:30!

  7. Every network is guilty of this act of hyping and promoting and then ripping a show off quick sticks! That said, I thought Cleveland show was crap. I found him a boring and laboured character within the brilliance of Family Guy – so on his own – big mistake. Not a patch on FG or American Dad. Interesting it has been renewed in U.S

  8. Rhys ten didn’t go for the Cleveland show it obtained the rights as part of there output deal with fox. They also got Glee and modern family from the same deal. It did well teamed with the simpsons and futurama, 800k or so and demo wins in summer isn’t a bad result. Clearly ten wanna kill glee by repeating it, it worked so well in Dec

  9. I love Glee, but why should we be subjected to repeats (of anything!) when Ten have first run episodes of shows like Supernatural??? Not to mention what else they have in their cupboards gathering dust… *cough* Smallville *cough*

  10. Can’t understand why Ten went for The Cleveland Show in the first place. TomK is right in saying it should be on 7 alongside Family Guy and American Dad!

Imbecilitis must be running rampant in programming departments these days.

  11. As much as Cleveland sucks, it rated reasonably well alongside The Simpsons and Futurama. Hell, it could still rate if the three shows are to be aired together again. Why Ten decided to air this in isolation is beyond me.

  12. Hmm Good News Week is one of those shows that have its own audience and no more; with it not finishing till 10 it makes it difficult for anything to succeed after it.

My solution to Ten’s Monday night woes would be to have a different show filling the 8.30 hour and do not start Good News Week till 9/9.30 whatever Ten decide to air in the slot; the audience dissipates and people don’t turn over at 10pm because they’re halfway through watching a 9.30 drama on another network or simply have turned off to go to bed.

GNW has a loyal fanbase and I think it would do well at 9.30; Rove stayed at 9.30 Tuesday nights for almost its entire run prior to the Sunday move.

  13. would have been much better on 7. i know it would have got the same crap time slot, but at least 7 stick with these shows and we could have watched Cleveland, Family Guy and American Dad together…

  14. They could let GNW run for 2 hours or put Letterman on at 10:00pm, then news and sport.

Put Supernatural on Friday night at 9pm then a double The Cleveland Show.

  15. these FOX comedies do so well in america. why don’t Australians warm to them. although last year 7 tried family guy at 10:00 and it failed then moved it to 10:30 and it rated really well, shame ten could only do that on sundays. might be worth a try.

  16. Which also means Glee will get less ratings on the Thursday cause people know they can watch a repeat.. thus meaning that will have to be pulled off, stupid programmers.

Cleveland Show did well on Wed nights just put it back then

  17. They have finally realised it’s a dead slot. xD Admittedly I would have preferred them to just go “Fine, we may as well give you back Supernatural” but at least this is one step closer. Putting a repeat there probably means they’ve given up on the slot.
