It’s the clip that was made for the Logies but never shown. Neighbours at war, Underbelly-style.

“You slut… you slept with my daughter’s husband, how do you expect me to react?”

“I expect you to mind your own business!”

“You’re nothing but a whore!”

And on it went in Ramsay Street.

Last night the clip was revealed on The 7PM Project.

This kinda stuff we like, but they can go bomb at the Logies which this year opted to play it safe. If there are any other shows that filmed segments, we wanna hear about it!

  2. I don’t know why people keep saying that Neighbours needs to be in a PG slot to be more interesting. Neighbours has survived for over 20 years in a G timeslot and Home & Away close to that, only recently became part of a PG slot. You can produce a decent show in any timeslot. There are and have been planty of G rated shows that have been huge successes.
    It’s not the timeslot that’s the problem with the show. It’s some of the unbelievable and cringeworthy storylines that they run that makes them lose credibility with audiences. They had three bullying stries running at the same time a few months back and now a student teacher is teaching at school after a couple of months of uni. WTF? They just need to get some better storyliners and writers to make the show realistic and better.

    they don’t just wait till the laughter has stopped to continue.

    A dramatic comedy at like 9.30pm on australian tv would be so funny

    I’d love it.

    If they made a show like this on tv with comedic elements within a dramatic show then it’ll work and be amazing.

    We’d watch it. Why not make it?

  6. It reminded me a little of Dumb Street from Fast Forward with Susan (Jackie Woodburne) done up in the blonde wig!! Very good to see some of the Neighbours actors let loose and have some fun, i was just wondering if there’s still going to be a 25th Anniversary special for Neighbours?? There was some talk earlier in the year of an hour long special?? I wonder if 10 changed its timeslot later in the evening if it would still work?? I guess you don’t want to change the dynamics of the show to much but it would be nice to see Neighbours around for another 25 years!

  8. Fantastic, I agree with the comments.. there is no reason why this couldn’t have been on the logies. Playing it safe doesn’t work, taking risks does!

  9. It looks to me like Nine just didn’t like them taking the p**s out of one of their own shows. It had nothing to do with it not being family friendly. They should have shown it. It would have made the telecast mildly interesting. Apart from Shaun Micallef’s antics the Logies were just ‘moving wallpaper’

    If the 7pm Project can show this clip in a PG slot early evening then why couldn’t the Logies telecast have screened it? If they had concerns it could have been shown towards the end of the night. I’m sure I’ve seen much worse than this broadcast on A Current Affair. We now know the show is 40 minute dealay and they didn’t bleep out the f-bombs dropped by Claudia Karvan so what was the problem of running it with the bleep?

  12. Oh, man. This is exactly why Jackie Woodbourne needs to find work elsewhere. She completely nailed the part with that performance (however weak the writing may have been). Her delivery, the menacing look in her face when she brandished that gun. Always leaving an impression, that one.

    I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing her play a mob boss.

  14. I really think Neighbours needs to make 2 versions of their episodes. The G rated ones they show at 6:30 and a PG version which they can show late at night or during the day time. Would be a welcome change to the sugarcoating and toning down which has to occur at the moment. Thats the only reason why Neighbours will never match H&A’s ratings.

  20. It reminded me of TV Burp.. they should make a show where instead of comedians and actors doing skits about the shows (Full Frontal) they get the actual cast of shows such as Neghbours & Home & Away to take the piss out of them.. I would watch that lol

  21. Yeah, was great to see this on 7PM project. If only it made the Logies as while it was great Bert hosted I did miss out on various skits from other years.

    I would love to see Susan (Jackie) in a hard hitting role like that, she is an excellent actress.

  23. What were they thinking? A funny concept and Underborough is a great joke but the decision to make gags about blow***s and bleep about f-bombs clearly shows the people responsible have no concept of the audience for the logies (i.e. family friendly) and ratings (this would have necessitated an MA rating and the logies isn’t going to be broadcasted with that rating). If they had run with the concept in a PG friendly manner they could have had a sketch that people had actuially seen here.
