ABC trims gory Being Human scene

ABC edited out brief vision from last week's Season Two premiere of UK supernatural drama Being Human.

ABC edited out brief vision from last week’s Season Two premiere of UK supernatural drama Being Human.

The scenes included graphic imagery of a man in a chamber with an experiment going wrong.

The episode which aired at 8:30pm was M rated by the ABC. Last year the show aired at a later slot of 9:20pm.

An ABC Spokesperson told TV Tonight, “Each episode in the first series last year is classified M, and so is able to be broadcast during an M time zone without edits. So far in the second series three episodes have been classified, and only one of these has been classified MA and required edits for the M timeslot.

“At M our ABC Code of Practice states that violence “generally should not contain a lot of detail, and not be prolonged”. In the episode in question some of the details were edited so as to lessen the impact of the treatment of violence in order to be able to accommodate the program in an M timeslot.”

The ABC was unable to confirm if future episodes would also undergo cuts.

“The ABC takes such matters very seriously indeed and values the audience members who are fans of this series.”

The show continues tonight on ABC2.

  1. The cuts continue!

Episode 5 was trimmed by about 13 seconds removing a close up of a blood-spattered victim.

It’s a shame this couldn’t be aired later to avoid these edits.

  2. it was pretty gross.

i didnt enjoy s2 as much as s1, too much gore, and yes i know its to be expected, but s1 didnt rely on bloodied frenzies for the sake of it.
