Only at Telethons…

Here is Karl Stefanovic doing his bestest ‘Tom Cruise as Tropic Thunder‘s Les Grossman at the MTV Movie Awards.’

The routine was for a good cause as part of Nine’s Gold Week Telethon for the Sydney Children’s Hospital.

  3. This Tom Cruise thing is so dumb. It’s obviously just an attempt to get people to like him again since he’s crazy. I applaud the publicist who is being paid to reinvent him as a public-friendly figure.

    Hmm…I might get sued for that.

  5. Firstly, Les Grossman is an incredibly unfunny character. The gag in Tropic Thunder was more that Tom Cruise had a surprise cameo and less about the Les Grossman persona.

    Now, long after Tropic Thunder, Tom Cruise whose action hero status and credibility in general are in the shi**er he’s desperate to gain popularity through comedy, re: Knight & Day trailer where he tries his best to seem charming and funny. NB: Knight & Day was a Kath & Kim gag and makes for a terribly corny though befitting film title.

    So now that Tom has well and truly beaten the dead horse that is Les Grossman (though we have the much anticipated disaster of a movie to come) Karl Stefanovic parodies, well it’s not really a parody if you just repeat it, the worst Les Grossman appearance to date.

    I shouldn’t be surprised by any of this because unlike Tom Cruise Karl Stefanovic is a certifiable nut though Tom should spend some time in a mental wellness facility too.
