Singing, dancing and acting teens will feature in Nickelodeon’s new live-action comedy series, Victorious, next month.

The US series stars Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice (Zoey 101, Spectacular!, iFight Shelby Marx) as Victoria “Tori” Vega, who attends a performing arts high school while getting into wacky screwball situations on a daily basis. The series is produced by Dan Schneider (iCarly, Zoey 101, Drake & Josh).

The co-production with Sony Music, will feature songs performed by Victoria Justice and the cast. The theme song, “Make it Shine,” is written by Dr. Luke (Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson) along with Michael Corcoran (Drake Bell, Miranda Cosgrove).

Victoria Justice’s character Tori Vega has grown up in the shadow of her older sister Trina (Daniella Money, Nancy Drew), a self-obsessed but decidedly funny character who has always been the ‘star’ of the family. However, after Trina has a medical mishap on the night of their school’s annual talent showcase, Tori steps in to perform Trina’s song. Accompanied on piano by her musically-gifted friend André (Leon Thomas, August Rush, The Lion King, iCarly), Tori’s singing and dancing impress the school’s principal so much that she offers her the opportunity of a lifetime – an invitation to become a student at Hollywood Arts High School.

From her first day at the school however, Tori feels out of place among the amazingly talented students, especially diva Jade (Elizabeth Gillies, Broadway’s 13). With the help of Trina, André and her new friends – brooding bad boy Beck (Avan Jogia, Spectacular!), eccentric Cat (Ariana Grande, Broadway’s 13) and lovable but psychologically scrambled ventriloquist Robbie (Matthew Bennett) – Tori realises that she was born to perform and that entertaining people not only makes her happy, but may change her life.

Tori takes the stage at this artsy school and discovers that they only way to fit in, is to stand out!

It premieres Tuesday September 14 at 5.30pm on Nickelodeon.
