Charlie Sheen rehab sentence offset by time already served

Charlie Sheen was given a 30-day rehab sentence, but credit for time already spent leaves him smiling.

Charlie Sheen was given a 30-day rehab sentence after pleading guilty to a misdemeanour assault on his wife during a fight on Christmas Day in Aspen -but will receive credit for time already spent in rehab.

The sentence will be “administered and executed” at Promises rehab facility in Malibu, where Sheen stayed earlier this year. According to TMZ he will check in and then leave almost immediately.

As part of his plea deal, Prosecutors agreed to drop a felony menacing charge.

Sheen has also already completed 36 hours of anger management, another element of the plea deal. The actor said of his lawyer who struck the deal, “Yale Galanter is a rock star, what can I tell you?”

The deal won’t also won’t affect his appearance in the new season of Two and a Half Men.

But Sheen’s headlines won’t be entirely over. Now that the criminal case is over, the path is clear for divorce proceedings with wife Brooke Mueller.
