Networks cover Chilean rescue

Updated: Several Australian TV networks are covering the rescue of the Chilean miners as it unfolds -but ther are subtle differences in Live coverage.

Several Australian TV networks are covering the rescue of the Chilean miners today as it unfolds.

There are 33 men about to be brought to the surface after some two months trapped underground.

The first is expected to surface after midday AEDT.

Sunrise remained on air after 9am AEDT covering the event live until 11:30am when Seven News took over.

Nine was running a split screen during Kerri-Anne until Nine News began.

SKY News and ABC News have also been covering the event live.

But there are some subtle differences.

While Sunrise was live around the country since 9am, Kerri-Anne (and that split screen) was on delay outside Sydney and Melbourne. Update: QTQ advises it left Today at 8:15am to switch to Kerri-Anne in Brisbane with live coverage.

Seven abandoned The Morning Show today to continue Sunrise coverage of the rescue, including having Perth viewers pick up live coverage from 6am in the west (9am east coast coverage).
