There are two shows about to premiere with similar titles and similar subjects, on two different networks.

Comedy School begins at 9.45pm this Saturday night on SBS ONE, as part of a new Saturday comedy line-up.
Find out what it really takes to be a stand-up comedian in this four-part observational documentary series that follows ten students as they attempt to learn the tricks of the trade under the guidance of veteran Australian comedian Rob McHugh. Rob’s students embark on a life-changing quest. For all ten, it’s a nerve wracking, cringe-making and hilarious journey from curious novice to debutant comedian.

Meanwhile ABC2 has School Of Comedy from 8:30pm Thursday November 11th.
Outrageous, entertaining and charming, this sketch show has children parodying the world of adults.

It started as a school drama project and made it all the way to the Edinburgh Fringe, with young, up-and-coming actors showing talent pointing to a promising career.

The young comedians perform a series of short skits with characters like Connie, the right-wing barmaid who has a relaxed customer service attitude, a 1930s husband oblivious to his wife’s lesbian affair, an estate agent with some very weird houses to sell and a cabbie who seems to have met just about everyone and who knows just about everything.

There’s bad behaviour, naughty language, song and dance and lots of laughs.
