Fan forums are buzzing with excitement that two planes from LA, QANTAS and Delta, landed in Sydney just before 10am. Racers may have boarded  the airport link train, possibly on their way to Central or Circular Quay.

  1. The site David linked in the article has been really great at following the teams through out the day, with some pics and videos of the the teams thrown in. They are off to the Outback early tomorrow morning on 2 Rex flights departing half hour apart.

Does anyone know why it has taken so long for the show to come back to Australia?

  2. Saw the teams at Town Hall today, after following them from Pyrmont Bridge and figuring out their clue. Did not see the cowboys before I left, and Phil wasn’t there on the mat, so it is one continuous long leg.
Have never seen as many backpacks before, as well as drink bottles. There were teams, and crew everywhere.
They are heading out on a Rex flight tomorrow to “the outback”…they did not know where though as yet.
I got to see them…finally…taken all these years!

  3. Rumour: Qantas A380 flight to Singapore tomorrow. or … locate ALP NBN rollout costing and deliver to Phil at Tony Abbott’s electorate office at Manly. Take surf board out to migrating whale wearing TAM flag, who will have your next clue.

  4. I have it on pretty good authority that some crew from Seven and an American network were in Melbourne last week, seemingly measuring timing from Southern Cross Station to Southbank.

The big things over that side are Crown, Eureka Skydeck and the Arts Centre.

If the racers are in Sydney tonight and getting accommodations (as one of my friends has told me), it could be an early morning leg to Melbourne for racing tomorrow.

Maybe we will see the red and yellow flags out tomorrow around Melbourne?

  5. Seven might do what Nine did with Survivor Australia – just ignore the current US season. Forever. We stillhaven’t see Survivor Marquesas here…

  6. @Paul M: I have similar concerns too. If Seven shows TAR18 first (assuming it will be on CBS from February) it will discourage people from downloading the show on the net, but it probably mean TAR Australia will be up against MasterChef later in the year. If Seven shows TAR Australia first it will generate good ratings against little opposition but by the time they show TAR18 it will be hard to miss who won, like what you said.

  7. The million dollar question is this – Are Ch7 going to show this season a week or two behind like they are doing with Season 17, or will they have Amazing Race Australia, and Then show this season.

I cant see Ch 7 showing Amaz Race Aus and Amaz Race USA back to back on same night, which is a pity, coz by the time they show this season it will be hard to miss who won, esp if you go on the net.

  8. i am so happy that Gary and Mallory are back for another season. i was so devastated that they got eliminated last week but so happy i will see them again! 😀

  9. Looks like its a double leg. Pitstop was at Shelly Beach in Manly but teams continued on after meeting Phil. Could be a 2 hour premiere!

@stan: Michael and Kevin are not in it.

  10. They have already visited Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Perth and Darwin in past seasons, but never came to Melbourne or Hobart. Maybe they should in future seasons!

  11. That’s not a bad cast. I’m particularly glad that Gary & Mallory, the Globetrotters, Zev & Justin and the Cowboys get another go. Not so keen on seeing Margie & Luke again.

I just hope that Channel 7 show this next year. I’m worried they’ll be too caught up in the fuss around the Aussie version.

  12. @ Janette, I’m suprised that there are no teams from Season 13 & that there are 5 teams from Season 14, I wonder how they go about selecting teams from past seasons for the All Stars edition. Anyway it’s about time the US version came to Australia again, last time was Season 9, before that it was Seasons 2 & 4.
