Nicollette Sheridan drops key claims

Nicollette Sheridan has dropped several claims against Desperate Housewives' Marc Cherry to avoid a physical and mental examination.

Former Desperate Housewives actress Nicollette Sheridan has dropped several of the key claims she had levelled against creator and producer Marc Cherry and studios.

She was suing Cherry, ABC and Touchstone Television in response to being kicked off the show, alleged assault and battery, wrongful termination and sex and gender discrimination.

In a joint stipulation filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Sheridan dropped her claim for intentional infliction of emotional distress and agreed she won’t assert any claim for emotional or physical damages.

In exchange, she won’t have to submit to a mental or physical examination.

Would such a move have generated more than she was willing to reveal?

Despite agreeing to drop the lawsuit, Sheridan is still claiming wrongful termination and gender discrimination on the part of ABC, but her damages could be severely limited.

Meanwhile Cherry has a script in development dubbed Hallelujah that would center on a small town “which finds itself being torn apart by the forces of good and evil,” according to Variety . Things improve, however, when a stranger comes to town “looking to bring justice, peace, and a little bit of faith” to the residents.

  1. Desperate Housewives was never the same once Nicollette left. And the way she was written out….killed by an electricity cable; was totally undignified and unjustifiable. It doesn’t really matter….viewers are tuning out and the show will undoubtedly fold after this season….

Yeah, she has previously had gender reassignment surgery. You heard it here first!
