Bumped: Conviction Kitchen. Returning: Bones

Seven yesterday made a surprising change to its schedule that abandons initial plans to premiere Conviction Kitchen.

Seven yesterday made a surprising change to its schedule that abandons initial plans to premiere Conviction Kitchen on Monday January 31st.

It will now air a new episode of Bones at 8:30pm, “The Bones that Weren’t.”

Beyond that their plans are still under wraps, meaning Bones could yet return to its traditional Sunday slot.

8:30pm February 7 is still TBA, which could potentially see Conviction Kitchen resume.

The reason for the change isn’t clear -but Nine is yet to slate its Underbelly movies.

TV Tonight understands Conviction Kitchen is still on the way….

  1. I’d guess Ch7 asked for recuts to Conviction Kitchen ep1 which would have pushed it past its delivery date. Note that it was only moved out of a slot, not Into a new one yet. And if that’s the case, someone somewhere at Ch7 is worried about it.

  2. @Secret Squïrrel – I mainly get the TV Week do the stories as I use the Austar online guides every day, they come with FTA channels as well. On my iPhone I have the new ch11 app from TEN which has all the FTA channels listed. Maybe it’s time to ditch the printed TV Week and I might get rid of the Austar guide while I’m at it.

As for the TV shows – I have to say this season Desperate Housewives is interesting again, I’ve only see a few eps (while in the US) but it’s got some good stories this season. But while I still like Greys and PP they are starting to bore me. And I never really got into B&S so can’t comment on that show.

  3. Thank goodness – those ads for the show are such a turn-off. We’ve made a rule to change channels everytime the ads come on – not a good sign because we often don’t turn back. It’s just a bad idea for a show – I Promise I will not watch it – no matter what time they schedule it!!!!

  4. @Ruddeger – heh, a pun and inappropriate at the same time! 10 out of 10.

@Craig – time to drag yourself out of 2007. 😉 Even with your 1.5Mbps fraudband you could easily access a number of on-line and usually up-to-date guides.

  5. i really hope seven will keep Bones on Sundays. It has always rated well there, even up against underbelly last year it still maintained its regular figures between 1.1-1.3m each week. Changing the night will surely be the death of the show, especially up against The Mentalist. If they were to change the night, it would be an odd pairing with Brothers & Sisters. Sunday is Bones night lets keep it that way please!!

  6. @lisa: because that would tank in the ratings. Housewives sis not what it used to be and neither is Greys.

Personally I think Conviction Kitchen will start the following Monday so all 6 episodes are in ratings season. They did the same with COugar Town last year and slotted a rpt episode of Bones in the week after the tennis.

  7. I think hold off on Conviction Kitchen, and keep Bones & Castle together. You don’t want to exhaust the cooking shows this early on Seven, four hours a week of cooking, including 2 hours together is a bit much – MRK is no MasterChef!

  8. Why don’t they just admit they got it wrong and return desperate housewives back to Monday’s and leave bones on Sundays and have a GA/PP combo on thursdays hold off conviction kitchen to after MKR in a 7:30 timeslot

  9. Sheesh! The FTA channels are slipping in new episodes everywhere: Bones, Law & Order, CSI, The Mentalist!

Thank for the heads-up, TV Tonight. Without you, I’d be missing new eps of some of my favourite shows.

  10. I have to wonder why I still buy printed TV Guides?

Why networks making late changes like this and the season has yet to begin how are viewers without easy internet access meant to keep up?

    Still Yay for Bones returning!

  11. I love to see Bones and Castle back-to-back on the traditional Sunday slot! Perhaps it will be back on February 6! But, when will The Amazing Race US and Australia will be on, since How I Met Your Mother, Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives are all occupying its traditional Thursday night slot?

  12. They have been advertising Winners & Losers as ‘After The Tennis’ so maybe that might go into that timeslot or No Ordinary Family. I reckon they’ll delay Conviction Kitchen.
