My Kitchen Rules: sneak peek

Last year My Kitchen Rules shocked with a surprise team of contestants mid-series. That looks like being off the table this year.

Last year Seven’s My Kitchen Rules shocked its contestants, and the audience, by introducing a team of rival contestants halfway through the series.

This year, that twist looks to be off the table, if this opening scene is anything to go by.

In 2011 teams from Tassie also join the cook-off. If you enjoyed the show last year, by the looks of the first episode you’ll be back for more.

Review to follow later…

Bon appetit!

  1. I like the show. Some inconsistency with judging. Bad score just because “you don’t like chocolate”.
Lots of nastiness by some contestants. Sore losers.
Message to contestant from Queensland” Take your bloody hat off”! when you enter the room and specially at the table
You want to be on our TV so have basic respect and manner.

  2. Hi….Love the show. Dreamy judges, soft french accent. The food is good and I love the way you get to see the contestants in their own kitchens. All cooks know under pressure that the most basic thing can go wrong so it’s fun to see it happen on T.V. Enjoy it far more than M.C. as it is more personal. Really looking forward to seeing good food and even nicer contestants…leave the nasty backstabbing and just enjoy the ride!

  3. The “Italian Mamas” Stef and Daniela are going to spice up MKR this year…their food is going to sizzle and their desserts are soooo sweeeet….make us and WA proud girls, to your friends and family your already winners…….

  4. can’t wait to see Stef and Daniela on the show they Rock and their cooking Rocks too!!!! Llove you girls you look great, you sound great you make us proud!!!!! Looking forward to the next dinner party with you!!!

  5. I don’t get the choice of Chefs/ hosts/ for this series. They are very off putting. Neither are the typical show ‘nice’ hosts/ judges (like those from MasterChef Australia) nor the typical show ‘mean’ hosts/ judges nor the typical show ‘zany’ hosts/ judges. No, they are the the typical show ‘boring’ hosts/ judges.

So it is not personality, presenting skills (one speaks softly, one speaks with such a thick French accent he needs subtitles most of the time), their names and reputation and prestige as chefs nor, to counter-act MasterChef Australia sex appeal (one looks like a seal, the other is average at best).

Seven really scraped the bottom of the barrel in the first series but I thought with the MKR name out there – they could ditch these two for better people.

  6. It’s not an MC rip-off, it’s a retooled version of Come Dine With Me. I loved MKR last year, so I am really looking forward to this year’s series. Pete and Manu rule!

  7. I’m a MC fan and yes, acknowledge this is identikit programming to challenge that…but it’s still surprisingly good. The two hosts are terrific. Much better than that Iron Chef Australia nonsense.

  8. This is such a rip of MC. Manu offers knife kits, MC offers white aprons with their name and the logo. The background where they recall their work is like the MC version! They are not world renouwned. You become world renowned if you are on MC!

I’ll pass this course and wait for the Master Chef[AKA ‘ Main Course’]

  9. OMG, cant wait!! Was definetly my favourite show last year. It seems instead of adding another group halfway through, they’ve just got more from the start.
Should be good though! Haven’t seen a stand out ‘Mel’ yet, we’ll have to wait and see who will take her place lol
