E! puts you on the Red Carpet

E! gets you into Oscars mood by launching a cute Facebook application that puts you on a virtual red carpet.

The “My Red Carpet” Facebook app uses your name and image in a video accompanied by Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’. There are five points where either the user or a friend’s images are used, along with a variety of accompanying headlines.

Two sequences have been shot, for either males or females.

Nick Price, Head of Content, MPG said of the app, “It’s been great to work on something as creatively challenging as this – by creating an engaging campaign using content and social media to deliver something genuinely different, we are able to better and more convincingly speak to the young female audience with whom E! Entertainment has a strong relationship.”

E!’s Live From the Red Carpet coverage of the Academy Awards is hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic at 10am on Monday 28th February.
