Nine’s Two and a Half Men slot under “constant review”

Last month TV Tonight asked Nine programmer Michael Healy about the future of Two and a Half Men reruns in the 7pm timeslot.

Last month TV Tonight asked Nine programmer Michael Healy about the future of Two and a Half Men reruns in the 7pm timeslot.

The question was raised at a time when Charlie Sheen’s latest meltdown required rehabilitation.

Healy said the timeslot was under “constant review.”

After the more recent fallout, and the show landing fourth in its timeslot on Thursday, that’s likely to be under closer scrutiny.

But if Nine did move Men it could opt to run its other favourite sitcom The Big Bang Theory in the timeslot, keeping a comedy and minimising any significant upheaval to the slot.

Meanwhile, Sheen reportedly won’t get paid for axed episodes.

Sources say he will not receive his estimated $1.2 million per-episode salary for the remaining episodes that CBS had commissioned from Warner Bros. There were originally eight episodes left in the season, but CBS reduced the order after the show went on a production hiatus.

It’s unclear if the cast and crew will receive some payment for the loss of work.

UPDATED: Nine begins The Big Bang Theory in the 7PM slot from Monday.

  1. I’m another who thinks Nine should bring back a revival of Sale of the Century. Hosted by Eddie McGuire of course! Nah! But I do want to see SOTC/Temptation back though.
